Rhyl Rocked with the return of Sunnyfest

It’s been a busy weekend for us here at Blazing Minds as we heading over to Sunnyfest which took place just outside Rhyl in North Wales.

This was the second year that the Sunnyvale Caravan Park has put on the event, Sunnyfest is a two day event of music and fun for all ages, not only is was there a great selection of bands over the weekend, but there was also a bouncy castle for the kids, face painting, a rather tasty BBQ for everyone to enjoy while kicking back and having fun.

This year the event moved from the bandstand that is at the top end of Sunnyvale and was staged at the front end, outside the Chester Variety Club, the stage was brought in with a different style from last year, this year saw a “truck stage” outside the club, with all the lighting and sound equipment set up for a two day event that would have a great selection of artists performing.

Saturday may have been a little windy and over cast, but the audience was loving the bands that had been brought on to entertain the masses and this free event, yes folks, Sunnyfst is a free entry event and it’s not just for those staying at the park, it’s open to everyone to enjoy.

The weekend was a success with many local bands getting to perform to a crowd of people in one handy location. It’s great to see events such as this being put on, there are lots of bands out there that need to get the exposure for their work. Not only did the bands/artists perform covers they also performed many of their own tracks which are always great to hear.

Even the rain that started to come down on Sunday didn’t dampen the spirits of the festival goers, as they still danced away in the drizzle, many joining in with the Rhyl Comic Con Cosplayers as they strutted their stuff to keep people entertained.

Many thanks go out to the team at Sunnyvale for putting on an amazing weekend and for letting Blazing Minds tag along to check out what is looking like to be a yearly event, that I can predict is going to get bigger and better each year. So now it’s just a waiting game for Sunnyfest Rhyl 2018.
