Hot on the heels of number 4 Cineworld announced Secret Screening 5 for the 8th of July, this latest Secret Screening is very close to the June 20th one, so it was a little tougher to guess what the film is, we did know that from the listings it is shown as a 15 certificate (but that can be a red-herring as it was for the 4th Secret Screening).
The secret screenings are always exciting as we have no idea what the movie is as we enter the screen and get ready for a surprise, the Cineworld Secret Screening 5 is open to non-unlimited members as well, so now’s your chance to see what we Unlimited Members get treated to with the Unlimited Secret Screenings from time to time.
With the news of another Secret Screening, we thought we would take the opportunity to see what the movie could be that will be showing.
In the past the Secret Screenings have been full of surprises and the Last Unlimited Secret Screening was a massive surprise with Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. So let’s take a look at some of the possibilities for the Cineworld Secret Screening 5.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 (July 12)
Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in the latest in the franchise and it certainly looks like a movie that is going to wow audiences with Cruise’s crazy stunt and action sequences. The new movie sees Ethan Hunt and his IMF team tracking down a dangerous weapon before it falls into the wrong hands.
Barbie (July 21)
If this is the movie then it’s going to be a massive advance screening, we’ve all seen the trailers and posters for this one, and Barbie has a stellar cast including Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Dua Lipa.
Oppenheimer (July 21)
If like me you are a frequent viewer of IMAX movies then you have no doubt seen the stunning IMAX trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new movie that has been shot with IMAX film cameras. This is going to be a stunning m movie to see on the big screen, but could the movie that stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Matt Damon really be a Secret Screening Preview, you just never know.
Knights of the Zodiac (July 28)
Starring Mackenyu, Famke Janssen and Madison Iseman, Knights of the Zodiac tells the story of a goddess of war who reincarnates in the body of a young girl, street orphan Seiya discovers that he is destined to protect her and save the world. But only if he can face his own past and become a Knight of the Zodiac.
Talk to Me (July 28)
We’ve seen the trailer lots of times at the cinema for this new horror, let’s just hope it is as scary as it looks! When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.
How about a couple of wild cards?
In our post about the Secret Screening 4 we did mention Mutant Mayhem, but since that post went live the date for the movie has moved from the 31st of July to August 4th, so we could be thrown a curve ball with that, but then again the certificate on the Cineworld website for the Secret Screening 5 is noted as a 15! So here are a couple of wild card movies that could be shown.
Joy Ride (August 4) – The Secret Screening 5 movie shown
Follows four Asian-American friends as they bond and discover the truth of what it means to know and love who you are, while they travel through Asia in search of one of their birth mothers.

Strays (Aug 18)
Strays stars Will Ferrell, Isla Fisher, Randall Park, Will Forte and Jamie Foxx. Directed by Josh Greenbaum. They say a dog is a man’s best friend, but what if the man is a total dirtbag? In that case, it might be time for some sweet revenge, doggy style.
The Meg 2: The Trench (August 4)
They’re back for seconds with Meg 2 The Trench and the movie directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Jason Statham, Wu Jing, Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels, Sienna Guillory, and Cliff Curtis will be hitting cinema screens on August 4th.
So there you have it folks, some of the possible movies that could be shown at the Cineworld Secret Screening 5 on the 8th of July. Of course, Cineworld could throw us a curve ball and bring us something that we could never expect, such as the screening of Elemental at Secret Screening 4.
So we will have to wait until the end of the month now for the Cineworld Secret Screening 5 to happen, but we will bring you any updates between now and then when we have them.
