The documentary film Shoe String, is about the world of low-budget horror filmmaking, predominantly looking at the growing UK scene.
TIS Films are producing the film in association with Video Dungeon. The project is spearheaded by Alexander Churchyard (I Scream on the Beach!), Michael Holiday (Ratman of Southend) and Producer Singh Lall (Video Shop Tales of Terror).
“I started my career in documentary film and have been thinking for a while that I would love to make a documentary film again. We’ve decided that making a documentary about what we do would be really interesting not just for fans of this type of filmmaking, but for a broader audience as well.
Working again with Singh Lall straight off the Video Shop films was a no brainer and Michael Holiday returning to the fold so to speak really highlights to me that this is the logical and best next step for TIS Films” Alex Churchyard.
A number of really talented individuals have already asked to take part including many of the Video Shop Tales of Terror directors, Pat Higgins (Powertool Cheerleaders vs. The Boyband of the Screeching Dead) and TIS Films will be starting with an interview with Dani Thompson (My Bloody Banjo), which seems fitting as she was one of the first people they worked with when they started making indie horror.
