With January almost at an end, it’s time to take look at some of the upcoming releases that are coming to DVD and Digital in February courtesy of Signature Entertainment, including an “Extreme Edition” of a very popular movie and an upcoming movie that follows a Dolly Parton impersonator.
The ever-popular Footsoldier movies get an extreme edition in February on digital platforms as the first movie kicks it up a few notches.
Synopsis: This is what a proper British gangster looks like. Based on his real-life autobiography, 2007’s Rise of the Footsoldier follows Carlton Leach (Ricci Harnett, 28 Days Later) as he evolves from feared football terrace general to a member of one of the most notorious British gangs that operated throughout the late eighties and early nineties. Leach had one goal, and one goal only: by the time he reached the top, everyone would know the name Carlton Leach. Rise of the Footsoldier also stars Craig Fairbrass (Cliffhanger), Roland Manookian (RocknRolla), Terry Stone (Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins) and Neil Maskell (Utopia, Bull), and was directed by Julian Gilbey (A Lonely Place to Die) who co-wrote the script alongside Will Gilbey (A Lonely Place to Die).

On the 13th of February be prepared for the world of impersonators and one in particular, a Dolly Parton one called “Red” in the new movie Seriously Red.
Synopsis: This super entertaining musical pic follows Dolly Parton impersonator Red (Krew Boylan, Primal), who is at a crossroads in her life. A red-haired woman grappling with high expectations and low self-esteem, she pours herself a cup of ambition and trades her 9 to 5 career in real estate for a life under the spotlight as a full time impersonator. After misreading her work party’s dress code, Red tumbles outta bed into a new world of tribute artists and impersonators in her wild and messy journey that includes romancing a Kenny Rogers impersonator. Red must lose herself to find herself. Seriously Red is directed by Gracie Otto (Heartbreak High) and written by Boylan, also starring Rose Byrne (Bridemaids), Bobby Cannavale (Mr. Robot) and Daniel Webber (11.22.63).

Also on the 13th and heading to DVD is the action movie, Savage Justice.
Synopsis: If Commando was set in the Louisiana swamplands, you’d have Savage Justice. Newly engaged Shelby John (Jack Huston, Kill Your Darlings) and Ruby Red (Willa Fitzgerald, Scream: The TV Series) want a fresh start after their struggles with addiction, but when Shelby discovers his beloved Ruby dead on their porch, he embarks on a vengeful killing spree of the dealers who supplied her. Armed with nothing but adrenaline and a nail gun, Shelby begins to unleash chaos on the town’s criminal underbelly, gradually making his way to the crime lord Coyote (Quavo, The First Purge). Sheriff Church (Robert De Niro, Raging Bull) must race against the clock to put an end to Shelby’s vigilante justice before the entire town descends into a bloodbath – even if that means putting him down. The Inspection will be coming to a cinema near you in February.

The new movie Bandit will be arriving on Prime Video towards the of the month.
Synopsis: This fun caper is based on one of the most extraordinary crimes of the 20th century. Gilbert Galvan Jr (Josh Duhamel, Transformers), a charming criminal, escapes from prison and assumes a new identity. After falling in love with Andrea (Elisha Cuthbert, 24), a caring social worker he can’t provide for, he discovers he is exceptionally good at robbing banks using the most elaborate schemes. With the help of loan shark gangster Tommy (Mel Gibson, Braveheart), Gilbert’s heists go bigger and bolder – until his perfect plan finally goes wrong. Also starring Nestor Carbonell (Lost) and Swen Temmel (In Time). Bandit is directed by Allan Ungar (Gridlocked) and written by Kraig Wenman (Secret Obsession), based on Robert Knuckle’s novel.
