Cerebrum (Cert 15, 95mins)

You’re not ready for this mind-bending psychological thriller. William (Tobi King Bakare, I May Destroy You), a young and insecure man, wakes up from a coma to find his controlling father Richard (Steve Oram, Sightseers) watching over him, while his beloved mother Amelia (Ramona Von Pusch, Der Rebell – Von Leimen nach Wimbledon) is nowhere to be seen. William returns home to find his mother, who seems to be constantly avoiding him. As he tries to find out the truth about what happened to his mother, the real consequences of his past actions start to unravel, soon revealing a horrifying and dark truth – forcing William to take one of the most difficult decisions of his life. Cerebrum is directed and written by Sebastien Blanc.

LOLA (Cert 15, 79mins)

In 1941, music-loving sisters Thomasina (Emma Appleton, Everything I Know About Love) and Martha (Stefanie Martini, Prime Suspect 1973)  build a machine called LOLA which can intercept broadcasts from the future. While the sisters initially use the machine for small ventures like becoming the first fans of 1970s music, they soon realise that it may hold the key to defeating the Nazis. LOLA proves to be massively effective in shifting the tide of the war, but as Thomasina begins to become carried away with the level of power the machine holds over the future, the sisters soon discover the world-altering consequences of their actions. Featuring original music by Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy and shot on 16mm and 35mm film stock, LOLA is directed by Andrew Legge from a script he co-wrote with Angeli Macfarlane (Death of a President) with 16 and 35mm photography by Oona Menges. LOLA also stars Rory Fleck Byrne (This Is Going to Hurt), Aaron Monaghan (Assassin’s Creed), and Hugh O’Conor (Chocolat).

My Sailor, My Love (Cert 12A, 102mins)

A powerful and romantic tale of a second chance at love and the power of redemption. When the right person comes along, anything can happen. After becoming concerned about her father Howard (James Cosmo, Braveheart), Grace (Catherine Walker, A Dark Song) hires a caretaker in the form of Annie (Brid Brennan, Brooklyn). As a result of his recluse nature, Howard initially rejects any help from Annie, but gradually the pair begin to bond, and Howard re-considers opening his heart to love and to be loved once more. The Black Demon (Cert 15, 100mins)

It’s man versus myth in this supernatural showdown for the ages. When oilman Paul Sturges (Josh Lucas, Yellowstone) takes his family to Bahia Negra, the crown jewel of Baja and the site of Paul’s best-performing rig, the vibrant Mexican coastal town he once knew has mysteriously crumbled. In the decrepit ghost town, the last inhabitants tell Paul the offshore platform has awoken ‘El Demonio.’ This shark is unlike any other creature; a shark of legend, known as The Black Demon. Soon, Paul and his family find themselves trapped on the rig, under constant attack by the giant monster who slowly eats away at the rig’s supports – with time literally ticking away, Paul must find a way to somehow get his family back to shore alive. Also starring Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho), Raúl Méndez (Sense8), and Julio Cesar Cedillo (Sicario), The Black Demon is directed by Adrian Grünberg (Rambo: Last Blood) from a script by Boise Esquerra.

The Secret Kingdom (Cert PG, 98mins)

A magical fantasy adventure for the entire family, full of unforgettable characters and breath-taking worlds to discover. The Secret Kingdom follows Peter (Sam Everingham, Hardball) and his sister Verity (Alyla Browne, Nine Perfect Strangers) who, after moving to their dad’s old family home, unexpectedly fall through their bedroom’s floorboards and uncover a whole new mystical world called The Below. Here they encounter a civilization of fantastical creatures, including Pling the pangolin, Mendax a fearsome dragon and Ego/Ergo, a two-headed turtle! Peter will have to face his fears to find his way home. Also starring Alice Parkinson (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Beth Champion (The Legend of the Five) and Gabrielle Chan (The Twelve), The Secret Kingdom is written and directed by Matt Drummond (My Pet Dinosaur).

Sakra (130mins)

A fantastical action spectacular directed by and starring action legend Donnie Yen. When a respected martial artist is accused of murder and subsequently exiled, he must search for answers about his own mysterious origin story and the unknown enemies working to destroy him. Sakra is led and directed by Donnie Yen (John Wick 4) in his first directorial project in nearly two decades, and also stars Yuqi Chen (Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre) and Eddie Cheung (Throw Down).

Little Bear’s Big Trip (Cert U, 90mins)

Friends become unlikely heroes in this epic tale of friendship, family and adventure. When Mic Mac and Oscar find themselves in charge of a baby bear whose delivery by stork did not go to plan, they set out on a massive adventure to reunite the bear cub with its parents. Setting off over land and sea, this epic journey will see them join forces with a teenage Panda and a stork in need of a new job if this cub is not delivered to where it needs to be. However, all is not as easy as it might seem as forces are conspiring against them to ensure they do not reach their goal. Little Bear’s Big Trip is directed by Natalya Nilova (The Big Trip), who co-wrote the script with Pavel Vinogradov (The Heart and How to Use It).
