Sometimes a sequel isn’t a patch on the original and now that The Lego Movie 2 The Second Part is out on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, it’s time to check out the movie and see if it stands up to the original.
It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet (Chris Pratt), Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett) and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
The Lego Movie 2 The Second Part moves forward nicely from the 2014 movie and it continues with the story from both the world of LEGO and the real world by connecting the Sis-Star System, who is the younger sister of the young Lego creator in the first movie.
There are so many great moments in Lego Movie 2, from it’s Mad Max style set scenes to those crazy moments that only a movie based on Lego bricks could really get away with.
All the cast and characters that we came to grow fond of from the first movie are back to bring us a sequel that is on par, no wait, is better than the original movie, you do get the feeling that these movies are made for the adults that grew up with those wonderful multi-coloured bricks.
If you enjoyed the character’s first outing, then you are really going to enjoy The Lego Movie 2, along with yet another, yes another, song that is going to get stuck in your head for weeks, I kid you not and I thought “Everything is Awesome” was a serious earworm!
The 4K UHD release looks and sounds stunning, with its crisp lines and vibrant colours, as does the Blu-ray, so if you haven’t stepped up to the 4K plate yet, then don’t worry The Lego Movie 2 The Second Part still look s just as “awesome”.
The movie is fun, it’s great for small kids and big kids, you know who I mean (eh mums and dads), so don’t worry, everything can still be awesome.
