When it comes to the Birdman and the lore surrounding the giant, elusive, red-eyed beast, it’s easy to brush it off and contend against the reports. No photographic evidence or videos of the ultraterrestrial exist, therefore it’s nothing more than just a made-up story passed down from one generation to the next. However, films like The Mothman Legacy will leave you questioning whether the tales are real or not. Many theories are floating around about the creature, yet none have stuck thus far.

Small Town Monsters has once again raised the bar, producing the single most comprehensive documentary on the Point Pleasant beast to date. From the late legendary journalist and UFOligist John Keel to the screenwriter of the 2002 Mothman movie, Richard Hatem, this film has it all. It also includes brand new eyewitness reports and first-hand accounts of the cryptid, along with a new, excellently crafted timeline of the events leading up to and after the unfortunate, tragic collapse of the Silver Bridge on December 15, 1967.

Whatever people are seeing, the consensus is that something is definitely out there. This film helps shed light on the subject and inspires those passionate about the monster to take a closer look and dig just a little deeper to try and uncover the truth. Whether you believe in it or not, the facts remain the same.

The cinematography in this is absolutely phenomenal. There are some seriously gorgeous landscapes and the visuals are absolutely stunning. Also, the lighting and shadowing really compliment the storytelling. What really stands out though, is the music. It’s haunting, atmospheric, and downright creepy.

The Mothman Legacy is absorbing, captivating, and compelling. It’s exciting, entertaining, and should be considered as the blueprint for all things birdman related in the future. The Mothman and John Keel would be proud. Another must-have masterpiece from Small Town Monsters. Go check this one out, you won’t be disappointed.
