It stars Dani Lennon, Morena Baccarin, William Shatner, Ray Wise, Bill Moseley, Damien C. Has, Mark Whitten, Benjamin Siemon, Bill Millsap, Florence Hartigan and Jason Axinn. Miriam (Dani Lennon) battles to save her siblings from the clutches of their tyrannical father, all the while playing pawn to the Gamemaster (Morena Baccarin) and her sick wager of the gods.
Let me start out by saying that this film is just plain awesome. The animation in it is thrilling and energetic and one hell of a wild ride. It’s like a comic literally leaped off the page onto the screen. It’s riveting, mind-blowing, out of this world fun. Total bizarre badassery.
There are some really cool characters and the story is original and engaging. It’ll grab you and it won’t let go. Also, the voice work is impressive and absolutely fantastic. It’s brilliantly brought to life by an extremely talented and experienced group of actors. William Shatner is electric as the narrating Overseer, and Ray Wise kills it as usual as the rich, cruel, ruthless evil father.
Everything really gelled together perfectly in this, creating one remarkably spectacular slice of film. An incredibly infectious, hypnotic nightmare. It’s bloody, intelligent and entertaining. The best animated film I’ve seen all year. Definite award winning material and worthy of acclaim.
