Those of you that read the Blazing Minds articles on a regular basis will know my passion for movies in RealD 3D, so today I’m taking a sneak peek at what movies are heading our way in that 3rd Dimension in a cinema near you.
Abominable (11 October 2019)
A cute looking movie with a magical yeti that must return to his family, this new animated movie in RealD 3D features the voice talents of Eddie Izzard and Chloe Bennet.
Gemini Man (11 October 2019)
Will Smith stars as an over-the-hill hitman faces off against a younger clone of himself. The movie is directed by Ang Lee and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Clive Owen.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (18 October 2019)
Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) and her goddaughter Aurora (Elle Fanning) begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, unexpected allies, and dark new forces at play.
Terminator: Dark Fate (23 October 2019)
Now, this is a movie I’ve been patiently waiting for, a Terminator movie with the return of Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and Arnold Schwarzenegger, so I can’t wait to see this in RealD 3D this October. Sarah Connor (Hamilton) has returned from far away, and she’s gearing up with a team of agents who will fight against T-1000.
The Addams Family (25 October 2019)
The creepy and little cooky family are heading back to the big screen, this time in a CGI version in RealD 3D, this new animated version of Charles Addams’ series of cartoons features the voices of Charlize Theron, Finn Wolfhard, Chloë Grace Moretz.
Frozen 2 (22 November 2019)
Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Olaf( Josh Gad) and Sven leave Arendelle to travel to an ancient, autumn-bound forest of an enchanted land. They set out to find the origin of Elsa’s powers in order to save their kingdom.
Sonic the Hedgehog (14 February 2020)
After that initial blast from the gaming community when the new look for Sonic was announced, changes were commissioned to change the look of Sonic and hopefully make it more like the games for this “live-action” incarnation of the popular game character. Cast includes Jim Carrey, Neal McDonough and James Marsden.
The Aeronauts (6 December 2019)
Pilot Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) and scientist James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) find themselves in an epic fight for survival while attempting to make discoveries in a hot air balloon.
Jumanji: The Next Level (13 December 2019)
A team of friends return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own but discover that nothing is as they expect. The players need to brave parts unknown, from arid deserts to snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game. Stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Awkwafina and Kevin Hart.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
This is a movie that I’m so excited to see the final chapter in the movies that started back in the 70s and a franchise that as a kid back in 76/77 had me in awe at the big screen. The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in cinemas 19 December 2019
Spies in Disguise (26 December 2019)
Let’s face in animated movies look great in RealD 3D and this one looks like it’s going to be great fun as well. When the world’s best spy is turned into a pigeon, he must rely on his nerdy tech officer to save the world. Starring the voice talents of Tom Holland, Karen Gillan and Will Smith this is going to be one for all ages.
Birds of Prey (7 February 2020)
Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) returns in Birds of Prey, or for its full title, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), after splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord. The much-anticipated movie also stars Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress and Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary.
Trolls 2 – Trolls World Tour (20 March 2020)
Those cute and weird-looking Trolls are back in this sequel to the 2016 movie, starring the voice talents of Anna Kendrick, Jamie Dornan and Sam Rockwell. Poppy and Branch discover that there are six different troll tribes scattered over six different lands. Each tribe is also devoted to six different kinds of music — funk, country, techno, classical, pop and rock. When rockers Queen Barb and King Thrash set out to destroy the other music, Poppy and Branch embark on a daring mission to unite the trolls and save the diverse melodies from becoming extinct.
Onward (6 March 2020)
We saw the trailer for this a while back and it’s another one on the list that is going to look great in RealD 3D, this animated movie from Disney Pixar, need we say more, tell s the story of two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, go on an journey to discover if there is still a little magic left out there in order to spend one last day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him. Featuring the voices of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus .
Godzilla v Kong (13 March 2020)
The King of Monsters returns to the big screen in 2020 and we can’t wait, especially that another awesome rebooted monster returns, KONG. This is going to be one heck of a movie, plus we have the added extra of it being in RealD 3D, so even more depth to what will probably be THE monster movie of 202, cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Alexander Skarsgård, Jessica Henwick.
Mulan (27 March 2020)
Finally, one for the Disney live-action reboot fans, as Mulan get the live-action treatment from the original animated movie, a young Chinese maiden disguises herself as a male warrior in order to save her father. A live-action feature film based on Disney’s ‘Mulan.’ The movie stars Yifei Liu, Donnie Yen, Jet Li and Jason Scott Lee.
