Now let’s be honest with What To Expect When You’re Expecting when I went in to see the film I hadn’t clue what it was about, well except that it was about pregnancies! So I went in with an open mind and memories of the trailer that I’d seen several times.
So the film is based on a New York best seller of the same name and follows the story of five interconnected couples that learn that big surprise that they are having babies and really that’s all there is to the story really!
What To Expect When You’re Expecting – Blazing Minds Film Review
I can’t really give you a massive review as there really isn’t that much more to the film than the connection of the couple finding out they are having a baby and the sometimes funny moments that follow after the joyful news.
There are some really funny moments throughout the film, like the Dads walking their kids in “The Dude Club” in the park and described as a kind of Fight Club without the fighting, headed up by Chris Rock, who is sadly wasted with not enough of his comedic banter that we have got so used to in films that he has been in.
Sadly this “club” is wasted with some rather badly written lines that are wasted on what could have been over the top and extremely funny scenes with the dads.
Don’t get me wrong there are some really funny moments, but most of these are around the mothers to be, with several short-lived one liners.
I do have to say though, this film is not going to appeal to you guys out there reading this review, your wives or girlfriends will enjoy it, there wasn’t one guy in the screening last night when I went to see it, so you have been warned.
Overall Thoughts For What To Expect When You’re Expecting
If you enjoyed films such as “New Years Eve” and “Valentines Day”, then you’ll most probably enjoy this, but don’t hold you breath on it being a major blockbuster, because it isn’t, it’s a fun night out with the girls 😉
