In some new movie release news, Enigma Releasing is delighted to announce that their First World War thriller, The Last Front, will be heading to UK cinemas from 1st November.
Directed by Julien Hayet-Kerknawi, The Last Front stars Iain Glen (Game of Thrones), Sasha Luss (Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets), as well as James Downie, Joe Anderson and Julian Kostov.
In a Belgian village during the tumultuous start of World War I, the Lambert family finds themselves thrust into the heart of the conflict in “The Last Front.”
At the center of this story is Leonard Lambert (Glen), a devoted husband and father who grapples with the overwhelming responsibility of protecting his family amidst the chaos of war.
As German forces advance and the village is engulfed in turmoil, Leonard must navigate the intricate dynamics within his family, balancing his duty as a father with the urgent need to ensure their survival.

Julien Hayet-Kerknawi has said, “Creating “The Last Front” was a collaborative effort that benefited immensely from the dedication and belief of my incredible team. My sister as producer, Brecht as our executive producer, provided unwavering support and full creative freedom. The commitment of the cast and crew, especially as a first-time filmmaker, was instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
Their willingness to trust and immerse themselves in the project, despite the challenges, was a testament to their professionalism and passion. The production itself was a monumental challenge. Filming over 30 days in natural locations required meticulous planning and coordination, especially given the independent film circuit’s constraints in Europe.
We spent six years preparing for this film, ensuring every detail was in place. I’m very proud that I had the opportunity to work with Iain Glen on my first picture. Above everything, this film is a classic hero’s journey. Iain Glen portrays an everyman, a farmer who desires a simple life and does not seek conflicts, who would be forgotten in history, but is forced to become the hero against his will. This classic storytelling implies that every man or woman can exceed expectations in times of great conflict and upheaval, revealing their true nature.
Iain Glen is the emotional beating heart of this entire film, and the experience of seeing this character grow to his fullest potential over the course of this 90-minute story is something that audiences will hopefully remember.“
The Last Front will be in UK Cinemas from 1st November
