So the day finally came when the last part of The Twilight Saga hit the big screen with Breaking Dawn Part 2, this is the movie that the “Twihards” have been waiting for and during my viewing they were there in their droves and some in “onesies” that had been there since 2:30 in the afternoon watching all the films back to back!
Where do you start on a review of a film that has a hoard of fans that even the slight negative response to their beloved films can have them screaming at the top of their voices and screaming “blasphemy”.
My look in to the film world of Breaking Dawn Part 2 is reviewing the film, not the book or even how the fans can say that they are the best films in the world and that nothing, but nothing, is wrong with them, I beg to differ.
Breaking Dawn Part 2 brings the franchise of Twilight movies to an end with a slight fizzle, it’s a very slow film to start with Bella (Kristen Stewart) learning her new vampire abilities and running through the woods at break neck speed with Edward (Robert Pattinson).
Later being introduced to a terrible CGI baby, Renesmee, and later some inexcusable CGI on the growing child, all done in an attempt to later change in to the live action of actress Mackenzie Foy.
Lets face it nothing much happens, the vampire family do a lot of standing around with many colours of contact lenses, Bella and Edward move in to their quaint country cottage, with it’s bad decor and a few things for Bella, but all isn’t as peaceful as it should be as the Volturi vampires with leader Aro (Michael Sheen) learn of Renesmee.
Battle will begin with the Cullens clan and the Volturi, what starts out as a rather dull film, that does have the occasional bit of humour, rolls along until towards the end it really starts to kick off, excitement builds and with a nicely done twist, it putters out!
Don’t expect a movie on par with the first of The Twilight Saga, which was a nicely done teen romance with a vampire twist, Breaking Dawn Part 2 is a bit of a let down, with all the hype for the film, it has promised and not really given, yes it closes the chapter on the story of Bella, Edward and Jacob, but not much else.
But for a Twihard fan of The Twilight Saga, this movie is going to be a power-house for the studios and the cinema, I was at a midnight showing of the film and the screens were packed out, the fans loved it and people will be talking about the film for ages, some will love it and some will loath it, but the fans will adore it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I hated the film, I didn’t, I did actually enjoy the film, though the bad CGI and the blatant use of Green Screen was quite visible, but I was watching the film as a reviewer and not your every day movie goer, so I do pick up on things.
So for all it’s issues and the wooden acting that goes with it, those are the decisions I make to rate the film, I’m not a fan, I’m not a hater of the Twilight Saga, I’m a reviewer with a neutral mind, though Breaking Dawn part 2 does run for 1h 55m, it’s didn’t seem that long, now that’s always a good sign.

Twilight fans will be in their element with Breaking Dawn Part 2 and they will love every second of it, if you do like the saga and want to see how it all ends then this is certainly one for you, if you’ve not seen the other movies then see them first to catch up, you never know you may enjoy them.
