My first word after reading The Stranger in Our Bed was WOW!
I seriously cannot believe this is Sam’s first psychological thriller. I have read many books of Sam’s, from a horror/fantasy genre, but this book has no doubt got to be my absolute favourite.
What I first noticed when reading this book, is that you can really visualise each character in the book. If ever this was made into a film, I would know who would play each character(but I won’t bore you with that).
Tom and Charlotte seem to be the perfect couple, and you are encaptured by how this book begins. But as time goes on all is not what it seems, enter Ewan Daniels who sweeps Charlotte off her feet, and they are planning to start a new life together. Then for some reason, he doesn’t show up to start their new life together.
Tom’s relationship with his mother Isadora is a strange albeit uncomfortable feeling relationship, as mother and sons go. But there is underlying reasons for this, and as the story goes on, you find out more about each characters past.
Once Charlotte’s life carries on with Tom, there are various twists and turns within this amazing read. They start a family together.
But I don’t want to give too much away, within this book I found myself gasping in what the outcome was.
I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I thank Samantha Lee Howe for raising certain issues in the book.
You do find yourself absolutely lost in this book, where you are experiencing every emotion the characters go through, especially Charlotte.
I have read quite a lot of best sellers in my time, and if I was to describe this book in my own words. I would say, once you open to the first page, you are completely hooked, and I will guarantee you cannot put the book down. For me, I find the story very much written in the style of a Mary Higgins Clarke thriller, and I absolutely love her books.
I am very much looking forward to Samantha Lee Howe’s next book, especially if it is another psychological thriller.
You know what to do, go get yourself a copy of The Stranger in our Bed, pop the kettle on and dive right into the world of the Carlisle’s. You will not be disappointed at all.
All the best Samantha Lee Howe, and congratulations on being USA bestseller.
