If you’re like me when it comes to music, then there are usually that many albums that you want to get your hands on that on the odd occasion, you let one slip by, you’ve simply not got enough cash to get it or, as this one did with me, you just completely forgot about it.
So the other day, while going through my personal wish list of albums that I wanted to get my hands on, I came across The Floydian Propulsion Project by Pink Floyd Floydhead, an album which had been overlooked and quite frankly it shouldn’t have been.
I’m a big fan of Pink Floyd and have nearly every album, except the compilation ones, so this album, though not by Pink Floyd, was one that I was really looking forward to getting hold of.
The album is 80 minutes, 20 tracks, of Pink Floyd tracks remixed and revamped in to what can only be described as pure genius, you just can’t imagine how amazing this album sounds without hearing it, but the electronic twists and turns on this album are outstanding.
I can’t really pick out one particular favourite from the 20 tracks as they are all as good as each other, but, I can say that one that stands out the most to me is “Drooling and Raving” which has so many of my favourite sounds from Pink Floyd in it, including sections from the album “Meddle” and parts from the album “Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” and “Dark Side Of The Moon“, just brilliant.
This is an album that the majority of Pink Floyd fans will enjoy, breathing life back in to the brilliant sounds that we’ve grown up with over the years and one for me that is going to get played the hell out of.
