Alternative Fashion Fest a fashion show with a difference

We travelled over to Liverpool yesterday for a rather special evening at the Albert Docks at the Circo Bar, where we had been invited to the Alternative Fashion Fest.

The event was a little different from most fashion shows as the catwalk was full of models with tattoos, piercings, plus-sizes and Goths, all doing their part to help raise funds and awareness for the www.sophielancasterfoundation.com.

Organiser Jane Bellis kindly invited Blazing Minds to the evening in Liverpool and we are so glad that we did, it gave is an opportunity to meet some truly amazing people during the evening.

Jane, who is from Chester, has worked in the fashion industry for 20 years, she first as a model and then on hair and make-up on TV, short films, and at fashion weeks in New York, London and Liverpool.

I first met Jane when she was she was been interviewed. I’d never have thought at the time that I would have the opportunity to be able to get down to Liverpool for such a brilliant event.

Jane decided to organise the Alternative Fashion Fest after she had become fed up with the mainstream catwalks. The Circo venue was a perfect choice for Jane’s Show as it has that very theatrical feel as soon as you walk in.

The evening was fantastic, everyone was enjoying themselves, fantastic outfits, awesome music and what a great bunch of people.

Jane is going to be doing some more events like this one and I can honestly say that this one was a night to remember, suffice to say, we’ve made loads more friends during the evening and here at Blazing Minds we are certainly looking forward to being at the next Alternative Fashion Fest.
