April is here and with that, it’s a whole new slate of movies! And we are officially in the weird slump that happens in between award season and the summer box office massive. So, this month is a mix of weird genre films, early Blockbusters and award season hopefuls that didn’t quite make it. I also tried something a little different with this video and might keep this format going forward? So, without further ado:

So. Here’s the thing. I don’t really have a whole lot to say about a lot of these films. I don’t want to be super negative and just say a lot of bad stuff about films I haven’t seen so, I’ll keep these short because I also don’t want to lie to you. As usual, these are MY OPINIONS, and don’t represent BlazingMinds or any of its other writers

Boss Baby: I don’t get this, it’s almost like people really needed to make some quick money and this is the result. It sounds like something written by a child.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2: Yeah. I loved GOTG. I read the comics and loved them and was super excited for GOTG back in 2014 and it blew my expectations out of the water, here’s hoping this does the same.

Colossal: I hadn’t heard about the film until I started researching for this month but I am super interested and can’t wait to see it. Looks like a fun, indie cult hit.

Table 19: I love every person in this film. All of them are funny people whose work I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy. But boy, oh boy I can not get onboard with this.

Unforgettable: Yeah… no thanks. This just looks bad. Maybe it’s trying to get in on that 50 Shades crowd?

Fate Of The Furious: I have only watched the first film in this franchise because I don’t care about cars and if I’m gonna get on board your big dumb action film it needs robots punching stuff. But you’re already gonna go watch this, you really don’t care what I have to say.

The Promise: Like Table 19 I love everybody in this film, but I just can’t bring myself to care about this one. It just isn’t my bag.

Going In Style: I don’t know if I think this looks like a harmless romp with some fantastic actors, or a pointless remake that has no reason to exist.

So! That’s another month! Anything I missed? Anything you wanna see in May? What are you going to go watch this month?

Hit me up on Twitter @whee_leigh and I will catch you next month!
