Combining psychological terror with every parent’s worst nightmare, Bad Voodoo is set to captivate audiences when it is released on UK digital platforms on 16 March 2026, courtesy of Miracle Media, following its premiere in the United States. The film features a talented cast, including Cristina Moody (Future Justice), Justin Genna (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Manny Pérez (Pride and Glory), and John Fiore (The Sopranos).
Four convicts escape from prison but end up in a hideout from hell when they break into a family home harbouring a deadly secret. Years ago, Abigail and John’s two daughters were killed in a horrific car crash. Consumed by grief and a desire for revenge, they summoned dark forces to punish those responsible.
With voodoo spirits inhabiting the house and Abigail’s thirst for revenge becoming lethal, the criminals must confront the unknown powers of a curse that thrives on guilt and blood. What was once a safe house for them transforms into a supernatural trap. As a fearsome night unfolds and new secrets about the fateful car accident are uncovered, they realise they are not only fighting for their freedom but also for their very souls.
Confronting the horrific pain of grief through supernatural storytelling, Bad Voodoo examines how loss can distort and lead to a misguided sense of justice that can hurt more than any terrifying monster.
Bad Voodoo gradually builds tension as four escaped convicts arrive at Abigail’s home. After a short while, things take a turn for the worse for the convicts; now the Voodoo side of the story starts to appear as Abigail starts to work on her Voodoo Doll.
As Bad Voodoo plays out, we learn about the characters’ connections, and everything starts falling nicely into place.
I’m not going to say much more about how it plays out, as it’s good to watch it yourself to find out how it all comes together.
There is more of a supernatural element that comes into play more halfway through Bad Voodoo, with Hougans warning Abigail, “not to break the pact“, but there is more than just the supernatural side; there is a nicely placed twist towards the end.
Bad Voodoo is nicely shot with some good-looking cinematography, yes, it does still have that Indie feel to it, and for me, that worked well.
The film isn’t for everyone, but it’s worth checking out for a twist on the revenge genre.
