It’s one of those moments that when you get the invite, the first thing you think is wow, “we get an exclusive on Bounce Below” and then the next thing you think is, “Oh S**t!“!!!
Bounce Below is all connected via ropes around the vast underground chambers and (upcoming zip wire through caverns) at Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog and is the world’s biggest underground trampoline with the capability of 100 people bouncing in the outstanding lit caverns and the chance of reaching the dizzy heights of around 80 feet with one almighty bounce!
Building such an epic bit of entertainment hasn’t been a quick thing to do and it has taken around 4,500 man hours to get the trampoline constructed in a cave that measures 100ft by 60ft.
Local companies got involved to provide the materials etc. that make up the world’s biggest underground trampoline that due to being underground will be open all year round for people to enjoy any time they want.

Let’s Bounce Below!
It’s not a long journey to “Bounce Below” as it is in the caverns that are not far from the café at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, so it doesn’t take long on the slightly bumpy and noisy train to get to the massive cavern housing the three trampolines!
Once in the cavern, it is an enormous place, make sure if you are a spectator that you wrap up warm though, as the temperature in the “Bounce Below” cavern is a chilly 8°c, but if you are kitted out in the red jump-suits and ready to get bouncing, you’ll soon work up a sweat!
There are several rules that you must adhere to when on the trampolines, no somersaults, as this can lead to injury, as the trampolines are extremely bouncy and with lots of people on them it can get pretty wild, also when you use the interconnecting tubes between the trampolines, you must cover your face with your hands, otherwise you could lead to friction burn on your nose, ouch!
So as I mentioned earlier the cavern is huge and although this morning it was quite noisy with a lot of people in there, later on, when I popped in for more shots and to see much more of the people checking it out, it seemed very quiet, maybe some ambient music or something in the background would be nice, something just to take the eeriness away unless you like it like that.
One little niggle of mine is that in the speech for the health and safety etc. before you leave on the train and even once you are in the cavern is that there was no mention that there could be strobe lighting, so if you are planning to visit “Bounce Below” please be aware that from time to time, strobe lighting is used for effect while you are bouncing away on the trampolines.
But besides that slight niggle, it is an amazing attraction to visit and at only £15 and the option to stay bouncing for up to two hours, it’s a brilliant day out for the family, there is a well-catered café with delicious coffee and cakes, so after you’ve exerted all that energy you can relax, or if you have cake before, you can burn off those calories on the trampolines!
But let’s not also forget that Llechwedd is also the home of the Titan Zip Wires, so even more stuff to do and talking of Zip Wire! There is news, as Blazing Minds found out today, that a new attraction is coming soon in the caverns, soon you will also be able to Zip through a cavern on a Zip Wire, now how cool is that? Yes, we will get a reporter to that one for you and we just so happen to know the right person for the job, mentioning no names, Amy.
So dear readers, all in all, Bounce Below is an amazing experience and one which not only overwhelms you with the feel and size of the place but the fact that these guys have come up with such an amazing attraction, I was completely taken back by the engineering that has gone into bringing this to North Wales and there was not one person coming off it without one heck of a massive smile on their face.
My recommendation is, to stop by and check it out for yourselves and most of all make a day of it and have loads and loads of fun.
