Breeders the Sky Original comedy starring Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard is renewed for Season 4

We have some TV news for you this afternoon with an announcement from SKY as Sky Original comedy Breeders starring Martin Freeman (The Responder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Daisy Haggard (Back to Life) has been renewed for a fourth season by Sky and FX, who co-commission the series in the UK and USA respectively.

Meanwhile, the critically acclaimed third series which continues to explore the challenges of modern parenting, is available on Sky Comedy and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland.

With Luke refusing to live with his dad, Paul is staying at honeymooning Leah’s house. Single-parent Ally begins to feel the strain, while a distressing event from the family’s past has a surprising present-day echo.

Series four was commissioned by Jon Mountague, Director of Comedy, Sky Studios and Tilusha Ghelani, Commissioning Editor, Sky Studios, for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK and Nick Grad, President of Original Programming at FX Entertainment.

Zai Bennett, MD of Content at Sky UK & Ireland says: “This uniquely honest and hilariously entertaining comedy about the pitfalls of parenting really strikes a chord with UK audiences. It’s fabulous news that we can announce Season 4 before audiences get to watch Season 3 on Sky later this month. We’re in for a treat and thanks to Avalon and FX for continuing our partnership to see what’s next for the Worsley family.”

Ally and Paul each learns the truth about a thing that has been terrifying them – for Ally, her job and for Paul, his MRI result. Ava and Luke both feel frozen out by the people they care most about.

In series three, Breeders continues its bitter-sweet look at the struggles of modern parenthood, starting just days after series two ended, as the Worsley family reels from teenage Luke (Alex Eastwood) punching his dad, Paul (Martin Freeman). Paul’s moved out and is staying at his mother-in-law Leah’s (Stella Gonet) house. He should be lonely but actually, the simpler life has its appeal.??Eventually, though, amends with Luke must be made. Meanwhile Ally (Daisy Haggard) has her own problems – with work, with early menopause and with her increasingly strained relationship with her newly adolescent daughter, Ava (Eve Prenelle). Gallows humour and large glasses of wine only go so far in quelling the angst…

An ambitious Ally sets out to save the company and throw a memorable birthday party for Ava, just as Paul, passed over for promotion yet again, wonders if he ever had any ambition to start with.
