It had seemed forever since Captain America: The Winter Soldier was out in cinemas in 2014, now after a two-year wait we finally got to the moment that we had all heard about in Captain America Civil War.
The time has come where many people are in fear of the repercussions of the destruction caused as superheroes during their fight for peace and so in their wisdom, the governments have got together to push for the Anti-Hero registration act, a law that will limit the actions of all the heroes.
This, in turn, causes a divide among the Avengers, with Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) agreeing with the act so that cities will not be destroyed during their actions, but Captain America (played by Chris Evans) is against the act and thinks that the governments cannot be relied on to save the world.
So the Civil War is started with the Avengers splitting down the middle with Team Iron Man (Iron Man, Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and Spiderman) and Team Captain America (Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Sharon Carter, Scarlett Witch, Hawkeye, and Ant Man) while a new villain emerges from the mayhem.
Captain America Civil War – Kicking Ass
As you would expect with the Marvel Movies, Captain America Civil War is another all action movie, with fantastic fight sequences, special effects and lots of Marvel humour thrown in to lighten the moments that would otherwise just be kicking ass sequences.
With its connections to the previous Marvel movies in the franchise and nods that you may miss, the movie is certainly another one that is just so much damn fun to watch, with the bouncing banter between Iron Man and Captain America to the shocking truth of what actually happened to Tony Stark’s parents, everything worked great together to make this a must see movie in the Marvel Universe.
Lets also not forget that this movie is the one that we finally get to have Spider-Man fighting alongside the Avengers, which a lot of people have been waiting for. I have to admit it did take me a few scenes to get used to Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but now after seeing him as the web-slinger I’m looking forward to seeing him in Spider-Man: Homecoming which is due out in 2017.
What did seem a little strange is how Aunt May seems to be getting younger in the movies, this time, she was portrayed by Marisa Tomei, but the scenes with her and Robert Downey Jr. did have me chuckling in my seat.
We get to see The Black Panther / T’Challa played by Chadwick Boseman, I actually took to Boseman’s portrayal of T’Challa really quickly and loved The Black Panther suit. Look out for the chase sequence with The Black Panther and Captain America, it is brilliantly done and it’s certainly one of the action scenes that has you precariously perched on the edge of your seat in anticipation.
Look out for the return of The Black Panther when he returns to the big screen in his own movie which has been pencilled in for 2018.
If you love the Marvel Movies and have been following them since Iron Man back in 2008 then you are going to love Captain America Civil War, even if you are new to the movies then this is one of the films that is a must-see on the big screen, check it out and don’t forget to look out for Stan Lee, yes Generalissimo has a cameo in this one as well, plus don’t forget to sit through the credits, there are two extra bits to see.
