Emerging indie rockers Scott Viney & Pierce Kavanagh aka ‘Little Fireworks’ have just released their debut EP ‘Where Did the Light Go’ – OUT NOW. This fresh collection of four songs establishes Little Fireworks as true contenders to reignite some hope that’s very much needed in these trying times. Think soft, heartbreaking verses, huge, anthemic chorus, lose your eyes and immerse yourself. It may be intense but the constant, universal theme in their production and lyrical content is absolutely one of hope, providing a much-needed flicker of light when all else is dark, a.k.a: a ‘little firework’.
Intense! We had a chat with the band to find out more about ‘Little Fireworks’…
Where did the band name come from?
To be really honest, when we were thinking about a name, Kav just came to me and said “What about Little Fireworks? And I immediately said, “Yep that’s it”. It sounded like “us” straight away.
Tell us all about the music scene that you like in London – where would you recommend we visit/hang out?
Loads of venues we’re loving at the moment. A few including The Victoria in Dalston, The Windmill in Brixton, Strongroom in Shoreditch.
What inspired your EP ‘Where Did The Light Go’? Can you tell us about each track?
Brother – our shortest, sharpest and fastest to date. Our little pop-pop banger.
Vicious Tongue– We were stuck in an apartment in Brooklyn. It was pouring with rain
Outside. Vicious Tongue was born.
Like Ghosts – The lead single from the EP. It represents Little Fireworks down to a tee. Soft, low-fi verses paired with big, anthemic choruses.
MyBest – Old but gold. Stood the test of time. Good fun to play live too.
What bands/ artists influence you both individually and as a band?
We are huge fans of the National and Biffy Clyro. Also like a bit of JLS – we like how they combine singing and dancing.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Although it’s a new project we’ve already played some unbelievable gigs – doesn’t get much better than playing live
What other projects do you have coming up?
We are currently in the studio in Leeds finishing off our next few singles
Where do you see yourselves ten years from now?
Either headlining Glastonbury or setting up a private investigation business- spend our days drinking coffee and eating doughnuts.
