Ctrl Freaks, Hijacking Social Media Lives of Londoners

Ever been “Fraped”? I think we all have at some point, that moment when a friend discovers you are still logged in to Facebook when you nip to the loo.

A new TV series called “Ctrl Freaks” is starting on TV on the June 4 at 10pm on London Live. (Freeview 8, YouView 8, Sky 117 and Virgin 159.) and it’s a mix of Trigger Happy TV and being “fraped” on Facebook!

Three comedians hijack the social media lives of Londoners, setting them up with challenges which they must complete without revealing their lives have been hacked.

Three comedians Dave Gibson, Bec Hill and Jacob Edwards make up the panel, also known as the ‘The Freaks’.

Comedians in Ctrl FreaksLondon Live Director of Programming Jonathan Boseley said of the show: “Packed full of laugh-out-loud and cringe-worthy moments, Ctrl Freaks is a truly modern day prank show.

Using contestants’ social networks, the team scripts an outrageous week that they must live out for real – From an Essex boy turning into a drag queen to a hipster having to pass off the worst art show ever as all his own work, the comedians will push each competitor to the limit. Will they go through with the challenges?

And will they be able to convince their social network their out-of-character updates; photos and videos are for real?

Each episode involves two contestants, with the one that enters into the spirit of things the best (as determined by the hosts) winning a holiday at the end of the show.

“Londoners are avid social media users, always ahead of the trend and most are rather protective of their online persona.”

So don’t forget the Ctrl Freaks starts on June 4 at 10pm on London Live. (Freeview 8, YouView 8, Sky 117 and Virgin 159.)
