In a new Exclusive Interview on Blazing Minds ahead of Horror-on-Sea I got a chance to ask Writer/Director Bless Williams a few questions about the film ‘Pizza Girl: Kill, Kill‘
Pizza Girl: Kill, Kill will play at Horror-on-Sea on Friday 17th January at 10.00am.
Q. Your film has been selected to play at the Horror-on-Sea Film Festival. Can you tell us what
we can expect?
A. You can count on being entertained with no dull moments—and get ready for some killer
locations!
Q. What were some of your influences when writing the script?
A. The script was heavily influenced by the locations—I wrote it based on what I had access to.
Q. What were some of your influences for the look and style of the film?
A. The look and style I was aiming for was spooky, dark, and cold, with a raw, low-budget feel to it. I wanted the atmosphere to add to the tension, giving it that gritty, unsettling vibe that keeps you on edge.
Q. Did you make any changes from the original script during filming?
A. I’m sure there were some changes along the way. I did some reshoots with different lenses, but it’s hard to remember exactly what was adjusted—it’s been a while. The script stayed the same throughout filming, though I did want to add a comedy element to it but, just didn’t have the time.
Q. What were some of your favourite moments during filming?
A. It was cold, dark, and I lost some gear along the way. There weren’t really any standout moments, but I guess the best part was having that location all to myself—no interruptions.
Q. Did you experience any issues during filming?
A. The only issues I faced during filming were the cold, the dark, and not having enough time.
Q. What makes it stand out as something different in the horror genre?
A. What makes it stand out in the horror genre is the location—there aren’t many spooky, abandoned trains in films these days.
Q. What do you hope people take away after watching the film?
A. I hope viewers walk away from this film feeling entertained and never bored.
Q. Do you have any other projects which you are currently working on?
A. Right now, I’m editing a horror-comedy called The Zombie Dance, set to release in October 2025.
Q. If someone was looking to write and direct their own film what advice would you give them?
A. I’d tell them: turn the camera on and keep it rolling, even when you don’t feel like filming. Never give up. There are days when I get burnt out, but I push through because I have to keep making films. Who cares if you don’t get a zillion views? Do it for the love of storytelling—everything else is just a bonus.
