Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice announces his highly anticipated 2024 tour LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU and the show is coming to Venue Cymru in April, to celebrate the return to Llandudno we chat with Giovanna for our latest interview on Blazing Minds.
Q – Giovanni, firstly, let’s head straight into the new tour – what is it called and what’s it all about?
A – Let Me Entertain You, and we will be doing exactly that! Get ready for a show filled with dancing, music, entertainment and maybe a few surprises!
We have an amazing live band that are out of this world, and so many epic dances in the show… get ready for the best night out of the year!
Q – This will be your 7th solo tour, is this one the best yet?
A – By far this is the biggest show I have ever toured with. The cast are just brilliant, we had over 2000 people apply to audition, and we picked the very best of the best. I am so excited for the UK and Ireland to come and experience this production.
The director and choreographer, Alan Burkitt, who created my last two tours, as well as my ‘Him & Me’ show with Anton, has created another masterpiece.
Q – Who is your leading lady on the tour, and can you tell us about any other cast members?
A – I have the wonderful Lauren Oakley returning once again as my leading lady, a Strictly professional who the country has fallen in love with, and I get to dance with her every night. I also have the wonderful Pasquale La Rocca – he has just completed his fifth season of ‘Dancing With The Stars’, winning multiple times!
Q – How do you come up with the ideas for each new show?
A – It is truly a collaboration with the producer Paul Irving, director/artistic creator and choreographer Alan Burkitt, and the musical supervisor Alex Turney. We all discuss how to bring the highest quality and most exciting show to the audience. There are many months of planning and ideas discussed, wanting to showcase the whole cast and get the audience to know more about me.
The whole process takes about a year to put together, so during this tour, we already start planning the follow year’s tour.
Q – What part of touring do you love the most?
A – Meeting everyone around the UK, travelling to lots of cities and towns, and connecting with everybody. I love to share my passion of entertainment with everyone, and this is the best way to do that.
I just love getting out there and meeting all of my fans, they really do mean the world to me, and if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love every single night. So to them, I say…THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
Q – Also, congratulations on releasing your very own fragrance?
A – Thank you! Something I have wanted to do for a long time, I am thrilled with end results, and I hope you love it as much as I do! PS you will smell divine!
Q – What else can we expect from you in 2024?
A – Another busy year for me coming up, after Let Me Entertain You I have my second tour of 2024 with Anton Du Beke called ‘Together’. We also have our TV show returning for a second series, so you can continue to follow our travels – this time in Spain. There are lots more exciting projects to come, but for now, I will keep them a secret!
