After seeing Microwave Massacre you’ll probably never look at your microwave oven the same again!
Originally released in the 80s, the film is certainly one that is so bizarre that sometimes you often wonder what on Earth the writer was thinking, but everything works in this crazy movie starring stand-up comedian Jackie Vernon as Donald.
Microwave Massacre … PING!
Donald is a construction worker who’s wife has a love for Haute cuisine and Donald isn’t happy with her passion and in turn, it drives him to cannibalism!
The microwave becomes the answers to Donald’s prayers when in a fit of drunken rage he attacks his wife with a pepper grinder and bludgeons her to death.
With a little quick thinking, Donald dismembers the body and sets about microwaving the remains, which he then discovers are rather tasty! But now he has a big problem, he now has the taste for human flesh!
Don’t expect anything normal in Microwave Massacre the film is in bad taste and I’m not just talking about the cannibalism and chopping up of bodies! The film also flashes of plenty of topless woman in scenes on the construction site!
It is a crazy movie, but strangely it is comical to watch, I found myself laughing at parts I probably shouldn’t have laughed at. But I think this was down to Jackie Vernon’s straight-faced deadpan acting for the character he was playing.

OK, it may not have all the great effects we have these days, but they work, Microwave Massacre may not be everyone’s taste (excuse the pun). There is a scene where Donald is packing the body parts into the fridge with his wife’s head, which reminded me of the brilliant film The Voices with Ryan Reynolds, a scene which is disturbing but funny.
