It’s always great news when Eureka Entertainment announce news of another classic movie is getting released with a 4K remaster and being a fan of Jackie Chan movies I was very excited to hear that they are to release POLICE STORY 3: SUPERCOP, Jackie Chan returns in this explosive thrill-a-minute third instalment in the POLICE STORY series.
On Blu-ray for the first time ever in the UK as a part of the Eureka Classics range, presented from a brand new 4K restoration. Available from 26 September 2022, the first print-run of 3000 copies will feature a Limited-Edition O-card Slipcase, Lobby Cards & Collector’s Booklet.

Many of you will have seen my reviews of the Police Story so with the release of the third movie in the franchise on Blu-ray I just had to bring you my thoughts on the Eureka Classics Blu-ray, Police Story III: Supercop sees Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh team up in this action masterpiece!
Suffice to say we know that Chan’s movies are always packed with some great stunt work and Supercop is no exception and features some of the most dangerous stunts ever performed on camera, Police Story 3: Supercop represents the pinnacle of Jackie Chan’s unique style of Hong Kong action filmmaking. A dazzling blend of gritty action cop drama impeccably choreographed martial-arts sequences and bone-crunching stunt work.
Along for the ride is action superstar Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) joins the series as Inspector Yang Chien-Hua, who teams up with Chan Ka-Kui to take down an international drug ring. With some of the most outrageous stunt sequences ever committed to film, Police Story 3: Supercop is an action masterpiece that must truly be seen to be believed.

Police Story 3: Supercop the look, sound and various cuts on the Blu-ray
After loading the Blu-ray into my player I was confronted with a very simple menu that offers Play Film, Setup and Bonus Features, the first option speaks for itself and the second gives you Audio Setup for the various language tracks including three Cantonese versions from Mono to Dolby Atmos and one for English which is sadly only a Mono track, there are also two commentary tracks.
There is also a Subtitles section with Subtitles Off and English, so my option to watch the movie was English Mono, which I have to say still sounds good, but I would have loved the remastered release to have a 5.1 mix to beef up the sound a tad, but more on 5.1 sound later.
What we have with Supercop is the original Hong Kong theatrical cut that has a 4K remaster that looks fantastic, the colours are vibrant and it most likely looks better than it did when the movie was first released back in 1992.

As for the movie itself, well what can I say it’s a Jackie Chan movie, so expect some amazing stunts, some nice comedic touches and yes there are those outtakes in the credits at the end of the film that all Jackie Chan Movie fans love to see.
If you are a fan of the Police Story movies then Supercop is certainly one that you will want on Blu-ray to go with the previous releases from Eureka Entertainment.
OK, so earlier I mentioned the 5.1 soundtrack for English and in the Bonus section of the menu which is packed with some great special features there is the UK cut of Supercop which features Jackie Chan and Michele Yeoh dubbing their own characters, but I have to say that I do prefer the Hong Kong release, but the 5.1 soundtrack sounds great, it’s a shame that the English dub of the Hong Kong theatrical release was only in mono.
