Phase Radio Brings the Community Together for Prestatyn

For those that of you that follow us on Twitter (@BlazingMinds), you may have seen us mentioning that we have been over in Prestatyn at the new radio station, Phase Radio Wales.

I’ve been honoured to be asked to be a presenter on Phase Radio which will be going live next week after the official opening which well be held on Monday 21 January at Ty Pendre in Prestatyn.

Being one of the thirteen presenters on Phase Radio will allow me to bring you more entertainment and what’s on, with so many great presenters will give listeners of the station 24 hours every day of amazing music and more..

Graham Bevins who co-founded the station with Chris Reeves said the location next to the Cross Foxes could not be better.

“I rang the town council and asked if there were any places available for this kind of venture,” said Mr Bevins who also volunteered for Glan Clwyd Radio.

“They suggested Ty Pendre and after we’d been to look at it we realised the location is fantastic.

“Then the council agreed to halve the normal rent for the first year as a way of supporting us which is amazing.

“We couldn’t believe it and there’s also been a great response from members of the public and local businesses who have donated computers, electrics, flooring and building expertise..

“We’re going to run a Radio 2-like mix during the day with special shows like Pete Mac’s Simply Soul in the evenings.

“We’re hoping to reintroduce the Talking Newspaper and promote any local issues from Healthy Prestatyn and the town council.

“The shows will also be available by podcast so people won’t miss out if they can’t listen live.

“The location is amazing and we will be open to the public if they want to pop in for a chat.

“We believe this is the only radio station on the Offa’s Dyke Path and we will start a log book for walkers doing the Dyke.”

UPDATE: Phase Radio Wales Launch Day

Launch day for Phase Radio Wales was a roaring success and the team of presenters enjoyed meeting the Mayor and Councillors as they were given the tour of the new studios in Prestatyn.

Along on the day were also some Cosplayers from Garden Den Events, that popped along to help give out flyers for the station and promote it it in the Prestatyn high street, where they were “papped” by many amazed people as a minion and two dinosaurs walked along the high street.
