When the news that Jessie J was coming to the Rhyl Pavilion, fans went wild and in a matter of no time at all tickets for the show were sold out, the one night show which was part of the “warm up” for Jessie J’s “Sweet Talker” tour was certainly an amazing show for her fans here in North Wales and for one it was a dream come true.
During the evening Caz Roberts, who is a member of the local girl group “Pretty Girl Rock” was in the front row with her fiancé Lewis from “MavMac“, the night would be one that she had been waiting for a long time for, specially as she is a big fan of Jessie J.
[Tweet “”THIS HAPPENED…I am on cloud 9! Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing..” @cazpgrmusic”]The evening was about to get even more exciting for Caz as Lewis managed to grab the attention of Jessie J for a moment and persuade her to have Caz up on stage to take part in singing “Who Are You?”, a self-help ballad that Jessie wrote at the end of a lonely three-month trip to Los Angeles when she was 20, Jessie said in 2010, “I kind of lost myself. It’s very personal. It’s about being true to yourself. Don’t lose yourself in any situation you’re put in, and do the dew.“.
A very proud Lewis said, “You’ve gotta be cheeky sometimes to get what you want but we did it!!!!“, suffice to say he was over the moon that Caz got to live her dream on stage with Jessie J.
Carys has been a super fan of Jessie J for many year and could only dream of performing with her. She has actually been to see Jessie J on 3 other occasions in arenas and festivals across the UK. Jessie j is her idol and she wants to be like her.
We caught up with Lewis and Carys for a quick chat:
We knew for days that she was hanging around, I even bumped into Jessie J at the Faenol Fawr on the Monday.
I think that really helped because when she came on the stage I think she recognised me and then she was interacting and looking at carys and me quite a lot. That gave me the confidence to actually grab her attention and get caz on the stage
Carys before hand was nervous but I knew she really wanted to sing with Jessie J. That had been her dream for so many years. To perform with her idol. I saw my opportunity and I took it
I asked if carys could sing and pointed to her. Jessie then waved for carys to come up on to the stage. Carys describes it as a surreal moment. Iiterally picked caz up and lifted her over the banister.
What I absolutely loved was the support of the Pavillion theatre. The people of Rhyl really got behind caz and when she walked onto that stage the place roared with cheers. Remember, a lot of people there would have known who she was and known how much this meant to her
Her mum Sue and me pulled out the phones and started recording. It was a real proud moment because I knew Carys had a voice and I wanted jessie to hear it
Carys after singing was helped down by Jessie. She was so in shock that jessie went and got her a bottle of water and threw it out to her in the crowd.
Jessie j is a genuine down to earth human being and she had all the time in the world for us. Absolutely lovely and she out on a brilliant show. I think this is something Carys will never forget.
