Ethan Hawke Turns Fighter Pilot in Good Kill [Trailer]

Man of the moment Ethan Hawke, has taken on the role of fighter pilot in his latest movie, Good Kill.

The movie is the story of a Las Vegas fighter-pilot turned drone-pilot (Ethan Hawke), who fights the Taliban via remote control for half of his day, then goes home to his wife (January Jones) and kids in the suburbs for the other half. As his colleague Vera (Zoe Kravitz) voices the objections quietly dawning on him, he begins to question the mission, and whether he might be creating more terrorists than he’s killing.

Directed and written by Andrew Nicol (The Host, Lord of War, Gattaca), the movie asks the question is the Major Tommy Egan (Hawke) making more terrorists than he is killing? It also looks at the schizophrenia of war and the tolls that it takes on those that are involved and the moral conflicts and dilemmas of using the new technology for drone attacks.

But it also looks at the personal side of Tommy’s story, with him becoming a casualty of a war he is fighting half a world away, while in all that time he is in no danger!

He is a pilot suffering from shell shock and grieving the death of those actually flying, while also feeling guilty that he’s so far away from the shells.

He is becoming disconnected from real life, relating more to the targets he’s watching, and their families, than his own family.
