Spectre 6/4 to Beat Skyfall Box Office Records

With the new Bond movie getting it’s title today and everyone getting very excited about the release of the movie in November 2015, we take a look at the odds on SPECTRE beating Skyfall‘s box office records.

So it seems that SPECTRE is on course to overtake Skyfall as the highest grossing film in the UK according to Ladbrokes.

As Director Sam Mendes announced Bond 24 would be named Spectre, it’s now just a 6/4 shot the blockbuster breaks records and displaces Skyfall as the UK’s highest grossing film at the worldwide box office.

And although Daniel Craig is reprising his role as Bond in Spectre, the bookies are already looking ahead to his successor and it’s Idris Elba who’s the 3/1 favourite to replace him.

Tom Hardy’s chalked up next in the market as a 7/2 chance, however it’s Orlando Bloom who has been the clear favourite with punters in the last few weeks having seen his odds backed into 4/1 from a huge 50/1.

And finally, Lana Del Rey leads the betting to voice Spectre’s soundtrack at 2/1, or it’s 3/1 man of the moment Sam Smith takes the honours. At 100/1 it seems unlikely Kate Winslet will get the call up.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Spectre is one of the most eagerly anticipated Bond movies of all time, and it looks like it’s going to break a whole spectrum of box office records.”

She added: “Daniel Craig might not have finished with his 007 tux yet, but the odds suggest Idris Elba’s sent his to the dry cleaners in preparation for the big call up to be the next Bond.”
