Starman Teaser Trailer and Stills Released

We’ve got some more trailer news for you today dear readers, as we have the teaser trailer form the thinking person’s film about human frailty and alien encounter, Starman, from director Stuart Wheeldon.

‘StarMan’ seeks to topple the film industry’s under-representation of people of a poor socio-economic rank. But this most recent release by British filmmaker Stuart Connock Wheeldon is not just a tale of financial hardship. The film is also a timely criticism of the abandonment by the UK Government of ex armed forces personnel.

Starman follows the journey of homeless ex-paratrooper Mark (Nigel BarberMission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Spectre), and regard his efforts to survive in a world of judgement and misconception. His chance encounter with the open-minded Lisa (Mia Mills) spurs him onwards to realise his final mission: that of returning to a life beyond the constellations.

Mark’s interactions with Lisa (Mia Mills) urge the viewer to question the modern-day surge of prejudice and spurious charity. Lisa’s husband (Elliott Rennie) offers condemnation of her efforts to help Mark; his opinions representing the ever-growing cultures of narrow-mindedness and self-servitude.

Starman is also an indictment of our plastics epidemic, our propensity to waste food and our discarding of religion.
Lisa’s drive to know more about Mark comes at an opportune moment following the revelation of her husband’s affair. Her want for a new life tempts her to follow Mark into his mysterious future. However, Mark’s singular desire is to make contact with ‘the others’. Success in doing so will herald a journey which he alone must make.

Derbyshire writer-director Stuart was able to assemble a formidable group of actors and crew for the filming in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. The film was written by Stuart and Nick John Whittle. Doug Cummings was 1st Assistant Director, Jordan Frater Sound Recordist, Jennifer Whitmore Production Designer and Stuart Connock Wheeldon Director. Starman was produced on a zero budget by Nine Ladies Film (owned by Stuart).
