The Montagues are a four-piece alt-rock/indie band from North Wales. The band members are Jack Wells (Drums), Johnny Taylor (Bass guitar/vocals) Jack Mayall (Guitarist) and Kyle Parry (lead guitar and lead vocals).  

The Montagues started up in late 2018, and have since gained a lot of followers and got a lot of experience from various gigs around North Wales and the North West.  

The Montagues have been featured through airplay on BBC Introducing Merseyside and BBC Introducing Wales, as well as in Wales various local radio stations.  

They released their Epic EP debut album in August 2019 titled ‘Calibrate’, which is also a track on the album.  

I have personally followed these guys since probably the beginning of 2019, but feel like I have known them forever.  They are an amazingly down to earth group of lads and are always grateful for the support they receive from everyone.  

Before the pandemic hit, The Montagues were seen at venues such as Alexander’s in Chester, Rhuddfest, The Tivoli in Buckley. 

The Montagues were hit hard when the ‘pandemic’ hit, and along with other artists, gigs were cancelled, and live music was put on hold.  They did feature on Facebook live a few times for various charities, but because of the ‘stay home’ pandemic, it was difficult to get the band together, but Kyle treated us to a few live acoustic sessions throughout 2020.  

 I have been to many gigs of these guys, and I can honestly say that I see the absolute passion they have for playing live music, and releasing new music. 

This brings me to their brand new track ‘You’, I have heard this a few times being played at their live gigs, and I absolutely love this track.  Not just the melodies it offers, but the lyrics are amazing.  It is an upbeat track and such a catchy number.  

When I heard the band were releasing this track, I cannot tell you how chuffed I was, I am glad they are sharing this amazing feel-good track with everyone! The lyrics are absolutely on point “You, you’re all I want, you’re all I had, you’re all I ever wanted”. You can relate to this song on so so many levels, and I am so happy it’s out there for everyone to enjoy. It’s an absolute banger of a track, and one that will stick in your mind, and even in your top five on your playlist, I can guarantee it. It is a track that you will be talking about for a long time after, and find yourself singing it out loud in your car, or even having your own party in the garden, BBQ on and blasting out the track in the sunshine! Whatever you do, be sure to spread the word, The Montagues are gonna be coming to a town or city near you very soon! Check them out!
