Set in the year 2033, we meet Nathan Brown a computer programmer, played by Robbie Amell (The Flash, Tomorrow People), who comes to a turning point in his life where he has a choose die or be Uploaded. We are taken on a quickfire journey of what it means to be “uploaded” in 2033.
He finds himself uploaded to the very exclusive and expensive Lake View but soon finds himself under the thumb of his possessive, still-living girlfriend Ingrid Kannerman (Allegra Edwards). As Nathan adjusts to the pros and cons of digital heaven, he meets this customer service rep or “Angel” Nora Antony (Andy Allo). We learn about Nora through the series and how her life isn’t exactly how she planned it to be. We learn about her struggles with the pressures of her job, her dying father who does not want to be uploaded, and over time her growing feelings for Nathan while slowly coming to believe that Nathan was murdered.
Even after just one episode, this series keeps you watching and wanting more once the end titles appear.
It is rare that I come across a TV show that keeps me wanting more and keeps me watching to see what the Characters get up too next. Upload has a few twists and turns along the way. As well as a sci-fi / futuristic show it holds a good mystery story line as well as a romantic lament along the way too.
Just when you think you know what is going on the programs creator Greg Daniels, throws another spanner in the works.
Nathan soon realises he doesn’t quite remember everything in his life and has some recent memories missing, So himself and Nora set out to find out why and what he has ‘forgotten’ and who he truly is.
If you are a fan of murder mysteries and like to be kept guessing instead of working it all out within the first few episodes then you will definitely enjoy this series with its many twists and turns.
As we travel along the path of the storyline with the main character, we meet others along the way Ex-girlfriends, work friends as well as Nathan’s own family in the living world. As well as some fantastic charters in the uploaded world who are dealing with their own battles.
The whole series keeps you watching and wanting more after every episode weather is be sitting on the edge of your seat or crying with laughter.
Being a huge fan of science fiction, murder mysteries and action movies/series this is one to watch.
