I’ve known the lads of The Montagues since the end of 2018/beginning of 2019. 5 years in total. I have seen them so many times live, and everyone is treated to ultimate great times at their live shows. 

Where to begin with this epic album from this time, following on from their first EP album (which I have signed). It has been a while since their first EP, but I know how hard these lads work to bring such great sounds to the fans. And what a treat the fans are in for, truly you are. 

By the way, I played this album in shuffle mode, not in order, so it is not necessarily in the order of the EP.

Beginning with the track “Vehemently”, and I have to be honest, I did not know what this word was to begin with. So here is what I found. 

Cambridge dictionary states that “Vehemently” means in a strong and emotional way, and this is just what the track is all about.

It tells the story of how they love you in a strong and emotional way. It’s not a fast-paced track, but it certainly struck a chord with me, and I was thinking “Can they top this first track?” The guitars in the track are “on point”. Jack Wells on drums, wow, such a great track for you, I have seen Jack play the drums live, and his passion is amazing. 

One word “Bellissimo lads”.  

The next track “Breathe”, wow, my interpretation of this track, and it will probably be different to everyone else’s. But this felt to me, like a track about loss, feeling at an all-time low, and having signs to live on, “breathe again”, and knowing you will meet your loved ones again. What an amazing track. Again, not a fast-paced song, but it totally works, and the lads are getting us to listen to these tracks with intent and purpose, really gelling with their fans and telling their story. The bass, played by Jon Taylor, adds a beautiful element to the track, along with Oli Harman on keyboards, as well as both Jack Mayall and Kyle Parry on guitars. Kyle’s vocals on this track bring a softer element, and you can hear the passion in his voice. 

The next track, “Juicebox”, this track has already been out for a while, and I know that it sounds amazing live. Fast-paced, punching kind of album. Crowds jumping up and down shouting “I will love you, I will love you more”, epic track. Brilliant guitar riffs in this track. I have already reviewed this track, and again, amazing track. Arena worthy. “It’s worth a squeeze”. 

Up next, we have “Gravitate”, which starts as a mellow intro, and straight into the drums, guitars and keyboards. Again I have reviewed this track, and I love this. This is a crowd-surfing kind of track. Love how Kyle Parry’s voice reaches heights I didn’t even know were possible. Guitar riffs, again, brilliant, and then the bridge in the middle, then the drums rolling to pump up the crowds and listeners. Great to drive too. 

The final track I listened to, we have “Circus”, love the track, and I can picture this at the beginning credits of a movie, like telling the story from the beginning. With the lyrics “please just press reset, and just start again”, like our lives when we have to deal with upsets etc., we all just want to press a button to reset and start all over again. 

On the CD, you have 2 bonus tracks, “White Lies” and “I’ll Be Alright”.
