Sometimes when you are in the cinema and a trailer comes on the hairs on the back of your neck stand up to attention, so we’ve picked 5 awesome trailers of films that not only look good but damn well sound good as well, so we can’t wait to check these out in our local cinemas.
So check out our list of five movies with awesome trailers that we can’t wait to see when they hit the cinemas screens.
Thor: Ragnarok
Imprisoned, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilisation. Not only does the trailer for the latest Thor movie look good, it comes with an amazing track from those Gods of Rock, Led Zepplin! I defy anyone not to have the hairs standing up on the back of their necks watching this trailer.
Thor: Ragnarok hits UK Cinemas on the 27th October and is directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople).
Black Panther
The interweb went a little nuts when this the trailer for Black Panther was first unleashed on the world, we first met the character in Captain America: Civil War and the new movie follows T’Challa, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, as he returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.
Great to see Andy Serkis in the trailer and what a trailer, it certainly looks like this is going to be another Marvel movie that is going to have people on the edge their seats in an action packed movie in the MCU. Directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed) this is certainly a movie that is a must-see when it is released in UK Cinemas 16th February 2018.
Blade Runner 2049
The sequel to the much-loved Blade Runner from 1982 starring Harrison Ford has been on people minds for many years, now 35 years after the original movie, we now have the sequel. Based thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling, The Nice Guys), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
How Blade Runner 2049 is going to sit with fans is something that we will have to wait and see, but from the look of the trailer, I’m personally looking forward to seeing it. Let’s hope that it has that same grittiness and intensity that the 1982 movie had. Time will only tell and there isn’t long to wait as Blade Runner 2049 will be in UK Cinemas on 6th October.
War of the Planet of the Apes
Remember the original Apes movies and the TV Show in the 70s? Then we had the reboot of the franchise with Rise of the Planet of the Apes in 2011, followed by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in 2014 and now it’s almost time for War of the Planet of the Apes, after the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. Andy Serkis returns as Caeser in what looks like to be the most explosive movie in the franchise so far.
Matt Reeves returns to the helm after Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, there is also news that a fourth Apes Movie will be on its way. But for now, check out War of the Planet of the Apes which opens in UK Cinemas on 11th July.
The Dark Tower
The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba, Pacific Rim), roams an Old West-like landscape where “the world has moved on” in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world. This looks like another movie that is going to go down well, The Dark Tower is based on the seven novels that collectively make up the series, written by Stephen King. The first is called The Gunslinger, followed by The Drawing of the Three, The Waste Lands, Wizard and Glass, Wolves of the Calla, Song of Susannah, and The Dark Tower. Stephen King recently announced an eighth book, The Wind in the Keyhole, to be set between Wizard and Glass and Wolves of the Calla. There is also a short story involving Roland entitled “The Little Sisters of Eluria.”
Directed by Nikolaj Arcel (Island of Lost Souls, A Royal Affair) and also starring Matthew McConaughey (Wolf of Wall Street) you can see The Dark Tower in UK Cinemas 18th August.
