Netflix: 5 Shows that we loved watching

Over the last month or so we thought we’d give Netflix a try with the 30-day trial that was on offer and to see what it had on offer for me to watch. So with so many people talking about Stranger Things that was one of the first shows that I completely binged on over several nights and after watching it, I can see what all the fuss was about, what a show.

Anyway, let’s get on to my list of the shows that I’ve really enjoyed watching, these shows aren’t in any order, just listed as they come. So here we go.

Stranger Things

Now this was a show that I’d heard so much about, friends kept telling how good the show was and that I really needed to see it, my first thoughts were, “surely the show can’t be that good”, suffice to say after watching the first episode on Netflix I was totally hooked and intrigued by a show that reminded me of The Goonies with a supernatural twist, this is certainly a show you should watch.

The Punisher

I loved The Punisher movie that starred Tom Jane from a few years ago, so was looking forward to seeing the TV show based on the Marvel character. The show is a change from the movie as Frank Castle still kicks the proverbial out of people, but the series is done with a unique style of its own that works very well. It’s not a fast action show, but the story pulls you in to just want more.

Archer

One of my all-time favourite animated shows and having only seen up to season 5, I was over the moon to find out that Netflix has all the seasons on their platform, so you can imagine my excitement and a few late nights as I binge-watched the remaining series of the rather crazy, but amazing, show.

Gotham

Yep, Gotham, having only seen up to season 2 on Channel 5 and not knowing what was happening with the 3rd season being shown after it came out on DVD, it’s been great to catch up with the young Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth in the 3rd season, especially after that cliffhanger of season 2.

Rick & Morty

How could I have a list without the brilliant Rick & Morty, after watching seasons 1 & 2 over and over again on Comedy Central, I really wanted to watch the continuing adventures of the cult characters that almost everyone knows. I’ve been to many Comic Cons and believe me almost everyone knows Rick & Morty, heck most will shout “Pickled Riiiiiiiick” at the drop of a hat.

Overall Thoughts on Netflix

So after testing out the On-Demand network, I have to say that it’s been great, not only does it have a great selection of TV shows, with many Marvel-based shows, so that’s great for Marvel fans, it also has lots of films old and new. I noticed that the Sky Store has La La Land available to rent, whereas it is available to stream on Netflix along with a great collection of Netflix Original movies, some very good and some not so good.

With various packs from £5.99 to £9.99 per month, it is certainly good value, the HD and Ultra HD look great on a 4K smart TV and as long as you have a good broadband speed, you’ll get trouble-free viewing.
