Second studio album in the pipeline for Chester & North Wales band, The Reads

It’s just over two years since The Reads released their debut album ‘Stories from the Border’ and they’re getting ready to do it all again.
After hitting it off first time around, they’ve once again teamed up with producer Jim Spencer (The Charlatans, New Order, The Vaccines), having relocated to Big Mushroom studio in Middlewich, creative home of the aforementioned Charlatans.
Although they weren’t quite able to give up the day jobs, the airplay they secured from the first record (notably on Jeremy Vine’s Radio 2 show and several Singles of the Week for BBC Radio Wales) has gone a long way to helping them to make a second.
To fund the remainder, they’ve joined the likes of Duke Special, The Lumineers and Ben Folds Five in using PledgeMusic as a source of income. By pre-ordering the album, or purchasing a range of goodies/memorabilia, it’s become possible to help bands out financially and get something in return, not least a name-check on the album artwork!
Recording began in the spring, the new tracks are taking shape and they hope to release their as-yet-untitled follow-up at the turn of the year.
