What You Didn’t Know About the Ted 2 Cast

The outrageously foul-mouthed teddy bear Ted will be making a return to the theatres this summer. Seth MacFarlane’s movie Ted 2 promises to take us on another unlikely adventure as we find Ted and his new wife Tami-Lynn, played by Jessica Barth, trying for a baby. In Ted 2, set to be released at Cineworld in July, our furry friend turns to best buddy John, played by Mark Wahlberg, for help in having a child with his wife. Ted then has to prove he is human is order to gain custody of his baby.

The first Ted movie was one of the biggest comedy movies of 2012, and its stars make a return in this sequel, with a few new faces.

Seth MacFarlane

Ted’s creator Seth MacFarlane is the highest paid talent in the world of animation due to the success of his hit show Family Guy. Seth is the voice of Ted in this comedy sequel which he co-wrote and directed. Seth started his animation career at the grand old age of two-years-old when he created his first character and from there published his very own comic strip called Walter Crouton, which appeared in his local newspaper when he was just eight years old.

The Connecticut-raised artist, who is also a talented pianist, narrowly avoided being on one of the hijacked planes of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York but missed the flight, thanks to his travel agent who gave him the wrong boarding time.

Mark Wahlberg

Playing Ted’s best friend and owner, John, is Hollywood hunk Mark Wahlberg who first shot to fame with his group Marky Mark and the funky bunch. Following on the heels of his older brother Donnie Wahlberg, who was in teen sensation band New Kids on the Block, Mark enjoyed huge success with his first album, Music for the People. However, his singing career was short-lived and he made the switch to acting in 1993 appearing in the TV film The Substitute. Success hasn’t always been a part of his life as he had many troubled teenage years. In the late 80s he was sentenced to two years in prison for assaulting two men.

Amanda Seyfried

In his quest to have his own child Ted turns to lawyer Samantha Jackson, played by Amanda Seyfried. As one of Hollywood’s hottest young actresses Amanda started her career as a child model at just 11-years-old going on to get her first acting role at 15. After a string of soap roles the Pennsylvania-born actress had secured a place at university when she was offered a role in Tina Fey’s teen hit movie Mean Girls as the dim-witted Karen Smith.

The 29-year-old also spent two years training in classical opera, as well as working with a Broadway coach for over four years.

Patrick Warburton

Making a return in the Ted sequel is John’s co-worker Guy, played by Patrick Warburton. Known for his deep voice, the well-established actor has voiced a number of animated characters and appeared in Big Trouble with Tim Allen in 2002; both these actors have also voiced Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear.

The 50-year-old studied marine biology at Orange Coast College where he met his wife Cathi. The couple have four children.
