This film is absolutely brilliant. The acting in it is phenomenal. Annabella Rich kills it, delivering a hypnotic, one-of-a-kind, award-worthy performance. She’s seductive, scary, and spellbinding. That’s one femme fatale you do not want to mess with.
While it’s more of a thriller than anything else, there are definite elements of horror dispersed throughout the film, making for one seriously unsettling watch. The story is a bit muddled at times and a few scenes felt like they went on a little longer than they should have. Also, I would have liked to have seen a few more glimpses of the black widow weaving her tangled web. I think it would have helped with the runtime and trimming of extended scenes, and it would have given fans a deeper insight into what is actually taking place within the story.
The cinematography is fantastic and the lighting is excellent. The use of shadowing and angles gives the film a real eerie, ominous vibe. Toss in a menacing score and soundtrack, and you’ve got one grisly slice of fun. It’s a slow addictive burn, unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
Acting is terrifyingly twisted and disturbing. A gripping, stylish tale of pure unbridled horror. Compelling, riveting, and shocking. A Hitchcockian masterpiece. A true tour de force. You do not want to miss this film.
