The Cineworld Secret Screening 2 is heading to Cineworld this August and this one is not just for Cineworld Unlimited members, it is also open to those that don’t have a Cineworld card, but what could the Secret Screening be? We take a look at some of the possibilities.
It seems so long ago since we were at the Cineworld Secret Screening 1 which was the fantastic Le Mans ’66, a movie that surprised so many people during the screening and I have to say it was a secret screening that had the least walkouts.
The Cineworld Secret Screening 2 will be taking place on the 11th of August, so it opens up a good selection of movies that may be shown. In the past, Cineworld has shown films from a couple of days to a month early, so let’s take look at what we could be enjoying.
Don’t Breathe 2 (August 13th)
It’s not very often that a Cineworld Secret Screening is a horror, but you just never know and the sequel to the brilliant 2016 movie, Don’t Breathe could be the exception. Stephen Lang returns as Norman Nordstrom, the blind man that can seriously kick backsides. We now find that Nordstrom is living in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.
Free Guy (August 13th) – Secret Screening 2
Let’s face it we’ve all be eagerly awaiting the release of this movie that stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Jodie Comer (Killing Eve). Free Guy tells the story of a bank teller who discovers that he’s actually an NPC inside a brutal, open-world video game. The movie is getting a RealD 3D release so it’s looking like this one is going to be so much fun.
The Courier (August 13th)
Cold War spy Greville Wynne and his Russian source try to put an end to the Cuban Missile Crisis. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Merab Ninidze and Rachel Brosnahan
People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan (August 18th)
Since the end of their pirate radio station, life has been quiet for the Kurupt FM boys, but everything is about to change. News reaches them that one of their songs has been used on a popular game show in Japan. They’ve made it. Their music is reaching hundreds of thousands of people. It’s finally time for them to enjoy the fame and fortune that they’ve always known they deserved. Chabuddy G steps excitedly back into his management role as Grindah, Beats, Steves and Decoy begin their journey to international stardom – But is Japan really ready for Kurupt FM?
Pig (August 20th)
We have had some unusual movies during the Cineworld Secret Screenings, so you just never know we could be getting the new movie starring Nicolas Cage as a truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped. Bizarre as it sounds, I’m looking forward to checking this one out.
The Duke (September 3rd)
Directed by Roger Michell and starring Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirran, The Duke is set in In 1961, Kempton Bunton, a 60-year-old taxi driver, steals Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London.
Herself (September 10th)
A young mother escapes her abusive husband and fights back against a broken housing system. She sets out to build her own home and in the process rebuilds her life and re-discovers herself. The film is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and stars Harriet Walter, Clare Dunne.
A few movies that we know people want the Cineworld Secret Screening 2 to be!
There are many summer blockbuster movies on the way and it would be nice if the secret screening would be one of those and many people would be head over heels if it was the likes of Dune, No Time To Die, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Candyman or even Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but only time will tell.
