A little while back I brought you a review of the first season of the show on Sky Sci-Fi and now we head back to the strange town in FROM Season 2 after a cliffhanger from the first season that had us waiting to find out what the heck was going on,
FROM is brought to viewers by producer John Griffin and exec produced by LOST creators, Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner, those at home will journey into the unknown with a brand-new series of twists and turns, starring Harold Perrineau (LOST), Catalina Sandino Moreno (A Most Violent Year) and Eion Bailey (Band of Brothers).
The first season of FROM ran over 10 episodes and saw a family trapped in a town that has creatures that come in the night and put fear into the residents that are also trapped in the small American town.
FROM Season 2 runs through another 10 episodes much like the first season and Sherriff Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau) is now trying to not only fight off what comes in the night but also has to take on a new busload of newcomers to the village and defend them from the unknown. He also has to go on his own journey of discovery to find out what the heck is going on.
The second season of the show really didn’t seem as jumpy and scary as the first one with the show moving more towards the mystery of what is out in the woods and comes at night to feed on people. But this isn’t a bad thing, I found myself getting pulled into this new series much more than the first and the mystery gets deeper and certainly has you scratching your head at points.
We get to learn more about the characters in the second season, although saying that we still get given things about them which opens up even more questions that aren’t answered or are hinted at so that you can try to figure it out for yourself.
If you enjoyed the first season then you will also love the second, this is certainly a show that has some traction, but with so many things not answered and even more new questions asked during the new season you wonder how everything is going to come to that final climax!
FROM certainly has a strange storyline that keeps you glued and with the announcement of a third season, I am hoping that some of the unanswered questions will be answered and much like LOST things will hopefully be made a little clearer and especially after the final episode that has one hell of a WTF cliffhanger that it has you screaming at the TV and begging to find out what is going on.
