It’s been an amazing three weeks at Gwrych Castle in Abergele and tonight saw Giovanna being crowned QUEEN of the Gwrych Castle in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
With the show taking place here in North Wales instead of the Jungle in Australia, the show has been a fantastic boost for not only for the North Wales tourism, local jobs but also for the Castle that has had a much-needed boost to help with its restoration work.
Ant and Dec arrived at Gwrych Castle on the 10 November and shared their delight of arriving by tweeting at the castle.
The first episode of the shorter series kicked off on November 15th and we were introduced to the show in Wales by Ant and Dec, Dec had a fantastic go at pronouncing Gwrych and fair dos he did a great job and he added a comical, “well that’s how I pronounce it anyway“.
The first night saw ten contestants arriving in Wales and they were thrown straight in with a cliff hanger of a task as they abseiled down a cliff face in Angelsey.
But it didn’t start well for poor Jordan North releasing his stomach contents with the sheer fear of going over the edge of the cliff face to answer questions to get the code to release their packs that were hanging on the cliff.
As the series ran Russell Watson and Ruthie Henshall joined the campmates with their own introduction trial, making a total of twelve celebrities living together on the spooky and chilly Gwrych Castle in Abergele.
The trials have been a little different this year and were all set in the castle with the usual creepy crawlies to make the celebrities squirm and squeal, poor Jordan North was certainly getting some of those early trials as the public seem to want to see him suffering more than he maybe should have.
As the trials continued and the public voted for the first two weeks it was then down to the final week and the public to vote for who they wanted to stay in Gwrych Castle.
First to go was Hollie Arnold followed by a newcomer to the camp Ruthie Henshall, third was our favourite Beverley Callard and Victoria Derbyshire to leave the show next.
Russell Watson was next to leave the castle followed by Jessica Kate Plummer who had done an amazing trial with Shane Richie. The seventh campmate to leave was the favourite for winning I’m A Celebrity, Aj Pritchard who left with Mo Farrah.
After a truly amazing Celebrity Cyclone, Shane Richie was the next to leave Gwrych Castle, which left the three finalists, Vernon Kay, Jordan North and Giovanna Fletcher.
The three remaining celebrities had their last trials to attempt with Vernon being chained to a table and having thousands of bugs poured on him, but he passed.
Giovanna had to eat some weird stuff for her trial including a Sheep’s testicle and a bull’s nose, wow is there anything she won’t eat without gagging!
And poor Jordan had to face his fears again as he was placed in an Iron Maiden with 50 snakes joining him for 10 minutes and yes he passed the trial as well.
Thanks to them all passing the trials Vernon, Jordan and Giovanna got a feast to enjoy.

So it’s congratulations to Giovanna who is the first QUEEN of the Gwrych Castle, now the question on everyone’s minds is, “will I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here return to Gwrych Castle in Abergele here in North Wales“.
ITV have not said that it will or that it won’t be back, but if it does stay in the UK next year and not head back to Australia, it would be fantastic to see it return or at least use one of the many amazing castles that are spread across the UK.
So that’s another year of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here come to an end, I have to say I’ve enjoyed this so much more than previous years and if the shows stay in castles and the UK from now on, I’ll certainly be watching again next year.
