It was the first of the HRH Awards in Pwllheli and Blazing Minds was invited over to the event that was on at Hafan-Y-Mor (yes the same place as the Sci-Fi Weekender) and it was a night of loud music, big names, rum and lots of excitement.
The evening started with us walking the red carpet for the chance of a photo opportunity with the Area 51 girls, before heading to our designated table, table 13! We were also treated to an ice-bucket that had a bottle of Rum and Jaegermeister.
Thanks to the WiFi at the event we started tweeting out during the evening, including live updates of the winners and we also did some Instagram videos of some of the performances, suffice to say that the music was so loud that the video’s sound was blown out!!
The voting for the awards was done by many of the HRH community as fans voted for the majority of the bands etc.
The night not only featured the HRH Awards, but it also featured some amazingly loud music from bands throughout the night including Idlewar, Massive Wagons and Killcode.
The first award of the night, the HRH Angels of Rock award, went to Girlschool as Enid Williams and Jackie Chambers took to the stage to pick up their award, followed by HRH Brothers in Arms (Best Record Label) winners Nuclear Blast, the third award of the evening went to Massive Wagons for HRH Rising Stars, who would also be performing later in the evening.
The first live entertainment of the evening came from Idlewar who took the stage by storm with a brilliant performance from their list of tracks.

Time for the next three awards and next up was the HRH Axeman with the award going to the brilliant Michael Schenker.
Stone Broken took the award for HRH Young Blood
Stone Broken was followed by the HRH Metal Maniacs award which went to the might Skindred.
The night seemed to be racing by, we were now six awards down and it was time for some more live music and a few more tipples of rum as Killcode took to the stage to entertain the guests.
The awards continued with Airbourne bagging HRH Global Heroes, the O2 Academy Sheffield getting the prestigious HRH Best Loved Venue and the HRH Summer Solstice award going to Download Festival. So now that we had another three awards it was time for some more live music an this came from Black Aces.

Carrying on with the HRH Awards for the evening the HRH Mjolnir award was up next, this was created to recognise an unsung hero at the heart of the rock and metal community, the award was handed over to X-Ray Touring chief and super agent Steve Strange.
HRH Boss Jonni Davis Said: “Steve was there at the very start of the HRH journey and has been by our side ever since,” he went on to say, “I can’t think of a more deserving winner.”
The next award was for HRH Legend went to the brilliant Dee Snider, as he took to the stage the crowd took to their feet for him, the Twisted Sister frontman gave an amazing and emotional speech just days after his elderly mother was placed in an induced coma.
The evening’s entertainment ended with Massive Wagons putting on a brilliant set to close the first of the HRH Awards.
