Independence Day was one of our favourite movies when it came out back in 1996 and it became a movie that was always begging for a sequel and now we finally have one.
Independence Day: Resurgence brings us bang up to date, 20 years after the first movie and promises to deliver a global spectacle on an unimaginable scale.
The government is now using recovered alien technology and the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defence program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

Independence Day: Resurgence reunites Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Judd Hirsch to go up against the alien invasion, with a help from Liam Hemsworth and Brent Spiner, no Will Smith this time around though, it has been reported that he was asked to reprise his role as Captain Steven Hiller, but Fox refused to meet his request of a $50 Million fee for 2 sequels, but Jessie Usher is playing Will Smith’s characters step son in this sequel, while Liam Hemsworth will play Bill Pullman’s character’s son-in-law.
With Independence Day: Resurgence running with a budget of around $200,000,000 so expect a load of “out of this world” special effects to match the budget of the film, which is $125,000,000 more that the first movie had to play with!
The movie opening in the UK and USA on the 24 June 2016.
