Introducing the superpowers on Heroes Reborn

With Great Powers…

Like its forefather, Heroes Reborn – coming to Blu-ray and DVD on May 9th courtesy of Universal Pictures (UK) – has had great fun when it comes to thinking up superpowers and natty ways of using them. Past glories such as Claire Bennett’s useful/unfortunate ability to die, Elle Bishop’s manipulation of electricity and Isaac Mendez’s habit of painting pictures of the future are arguably topped in the event series which sees some of the old guard face off against/team up with a new roster of, well, heroes. But who are the new class? And what can they do?

Luke Collins

Power: Solar absorption and radiation emission

Played by Zachary Levi, Luke is initially something of a hero-hater until he starts displaying powers of his own.

Miko Otomo

Power: Teleportation to the computer game world of Evernow

Being transported to a computer game world might sound fun but surely it’s hugely impractical and wouldn’t you feel like you’d got the short straw if your friends got, y’know, flight and stuff?

Tommy Clark

Power: Power absorption

One of the event series’ great mysteries, Tommy is first thought to be a teleporter like fan favourite Hiro – but it turns out he can absorb the powers of others, making him a quite literal Jack of all trades.

Malina

Power: Biological and elemental manipulation

Another of the series’ great enigmas, Malina has a pivotal (and spoilerific) role to play in saving the world with her badass powers. We’ll leave it at that for now…

Caspar Abraham

Power: Memory storage

A slightly obtuse power, this, but Casper can store memories within coins and retrieve them later, bringing a fresh look at the term ‘memory bank’.
