Jumanji The Next Level 3D Rocks with the 4DX Experience – Film Review

I remember back in the day seeing the brilliant Robin Williams in the first movie, I thought it would never be the same with Welcome to the Jungle, but I was wrong and now that Jumanji The Next Level has been released it is yet again a movie that has been an experience.

We last saw all the gang of players returning back to normality after spending time in the world of Jumanji after their return the game console was destroyed or so we thought!

In this follow up to the 2017 movie we are introduced to Spencer’s grandfather, Eddie, brilliantly played by Danny DeVito and Eddie’s old friend Milo (Danny Glover) who are both inadvertently sucked into the game after Spencer goes missing when he fixes the game console and heads back to Jumanji.

This time Milo becomes Mouse Finbar (Kevin Hart) and Eddie is Dwayne Johnson’s character, which they both play with some quick quips and one-liners that had me in stitches.

With the team back in Jumani, it’s now down for them to find Spencer and see what game character he has taken on seeing that his character from the previous movie is now Eddie!

Jumanji The Next level - Still

Jumanji The Next Level keeps the feel of the last movie and Hart and Johnson show they still work well together on the screen bringing some very funny moments throughout the film, to say it’s a rollercoaster ride of a movie is a bit of an understatement, once we get past the introductions of cast in the real world and arrive in Jumanji it’s really none stop it doesn’t really slow down much.

It’s great to see Karen Gillan and Jack Black returning as well, let’s face it without them the gang just wouldn’t be the same.

The special effects in the film look amazing and we had the added bonus of seeing the film in RealD 3D which gave it much more depth and scenes such as the rope bridges looked great, giving you the feeling that you were looking down from them into the bottomless void below.

We also went for the 4DX version at Cineworld in Broughton, so not was it in 3D we had the 4DX experience of being the world of Jumanji to life and feel every little bump and explosion etc to the movie, from the slight rumble of the seats while the cast was on a bus to the sheer exhilaration of being thrown around as they lept from one rope bridge to another and racing in the dunes in a dune buggy, what a rush, we even had water sprayed at us during scenes along with several moments of snow, wind and lightning flashing!

Add everything together, the action of the movie, the RealD 3D and the 4DX experience and I have to say that I really enjoyed Jumanji The Next Level, looking back on the film I would have enjoyed it in 2D and standard cinema seats as well. If you want a fun movie to see with plenty of laughs for kids and adults then check this one out.

If you have the chance for the 4DX release then I really recommend that one, wow!
