So today was stage 2 of the Tour of Britain as the cyclists rode from Knowsley to Llandudno, we managed to catch them today as they rode through St Asaph on route to Llandudno.
There was a large escort of police bikes before the cyclists came through St Asaph today and as I left the car, grabbed my camera and stood by the road side the police were letting everyone know to stay off the road for the safety reasons, that it wasn’t just the cyclists that were racing passed, it was team motorbikes and the cars carrying the spare bikes and gear for the Tour of Britain.
So there I was camera at hand waiting for the riders to come past and boy oh boy, did they come by at some pass, all I can say is these guys are fit, going at that pace along the rode is amazing, yes we watch them on the TV racing along the streets, but when you are physically there watching them, it’s a moment that sticks with you forever, am experience that not only is something to remember, but also to amaze.

Stage 2 of the Friends Life Tour of Britain came down to a dramatic sprint finish on Llandudno sea front with Omega Pharma – Quick Step’s Mark Renshaw coming past Team Sky’s Ben Swift in the final metres to win the stage and claim the Friends Life Yellow Jersey
Swift finished second with Ireland’s Sam Bennett of Team Net- App Endura taking third on the stage
Earlier in the day Mark McNally of An Post Chain Reaction has retained his Skoda King of the Mountains Jersey, while Swift moved into the Chain Reaction Points Jersey. The Yodel Direct Sprint Jersey will remain with Sonny Colbrelli of Bardiani CSF – source
