I went in to the cinema with not a clue about Trouble With The Curve, except that the film was about baseball.
Clint Eastwood is an ailing baseball scout and is loosing his eyesight, so on his last scouting job he is joined by his daughter Mickey (Amy Adams).
Trouble With The Curve – Blazing Minds Film Review
Now I don’t really know much about baseball, so I was a bit worried about watching a film about a sport I’m not overly sure about, but I didn’t have to worry.
Trouble With The Curve is more of a drama about family, getting old and romance, Clint Eastwood is great as the rather grumpy old scout trying to get through the end of his career without admitting that he has a problem with his eyesight.
Amy Adams plays the part of the daughter well and with the addition of Justin Timberlake as an ex ball player who is now a scout for another team, the film is set on its path of discovery.
The film has a collection of well-known faces in the film such as John Goodman, Ed Later, Matthew Lillard, George Wyner, Robert Patrick and Scott Eastwood (yes son of Clint).
It’s nice to watch a film that is a drama, not an action, scfi or horror movie and Trouble with The Curve is a film that though may be around 115 mins long, it didn’t drag, I really enjoyed it as the characters were built upon.
Even if you’re not a big sports fan then it’s still an enjoyable film, yes it may be based around baseball, but it’s not really about the sport, it’s about the characters lives and loves with baseball as the common denominator.
Overall Thoughts For Trouble With The Curve
If you liked Million Dollar Baby, then you’ll probably enjoy this, it’s a good run of the mill drama.
