Twisted Showcase – Episode 2 Eyeball – Review

I recently posted up my review of the first episode of @TwistedShowcase titled Peter and Paul, recently I was lucky to get a chance to see a preview of Episode 2 titled “Eyeball”, so how could I not carry on with the reviews for the web series 😉

Twisted Showcase – Episode 2 Eyeball – Review

Episode 2 is a lot shorter that the first one, but it still has that rather unnerving feel to it, as I mentioned on Twitter recently, the Twisted Showcase episodes remind me of those spooky and twisted stories that Podge & Rodge used to have as shorts on their late night TV show, Oh I miss those guys.

So on to “Eyeball” without giving too much away the story is about Derek Evans and his eyeball, as with the previous episode this one has you at a rather uneasy as we are shown the view from Derek’s eyeball!

It is a twisted tale, but that’s the point of Twisted Showcase, yes the camera work is all hand-held, that is also the point of it, it’s all rather weird and that’s what I like about the series, it’s a change from seeing something that is made for a silly amount of money.

Having a show that goes back to the bare bones of what showcasing is, a series of shorts made by those that aren’t massive in the industry, for me personally I think these should be up there with those massively watched YouTube videos, lets give these directors a damn good start and help them on their way with the Twisted Showcase series.
