North East’s Most Famous Magician, Chris Cross, is Setting Out on UK Tour

We have some exciting news today: our friend Chris Cross is heading out on a UK tour and will be returning to The Galley Bistro on the Sunnyvale Site in Rhyl on November 1st.

Chris Cross, a renowned magician from the North East, is arguably the most famous in the region. At 36 years old and based in Newcastle, he has performed worldwide and made several appearances on BBC’s The One Show. His impressive list of clients includes celebrities such as local rockstar Sam Fender, Mike Tyson, David Hasselhoff, and even the King of England.

Exciting news: Chris has just announced his November 2025 tour, which will include 17 dates across the UK. He will be performing at Alexanders Live Jazz Theatre on November 3rd. Additionally, he will also be performing at The Galley Bistro on the Sunnyvale Site in Rhyl on November 1st in Rhyl on November 1st and at Quirky Quarter in Liverpool on November 2nd. Don’t miss these performances!

Unlike most theatre performances in the UK, this latest show from Cross is designed for an audience of 25 people or fewer. It offers an intimate and engaging parlour magic experience. There are no large props, smoke machines, mirrors, or trapdoors—nor any assistants being cut in half. Instead, you can expect masterful sleight-of-hand from a true master of his craft, performed up close and with a touch of magic.

This marks the first UK tour since COVID for the Newcastle-based magician known as the Magic Man. He is no stranger to television, international travel, and working with celebrities. His performances have taken him to diverse locations, including New York, New Zealand, Bangkok, Bahrain, Dubai, and Paris, among many others.

Notably, US magician David Blaine featured Cross as a special guest on his UK tour at The Edinburgh Playhouse. Additionally, Sam Fender has invited him to entertain the band and VIPs at his concerts. Rockstar Alice Cooper booked him for a press conference, while Boy George hired him for his birthday celebration. He also performed at Alan Shearer’s statue launch and at a sports dinner hosted by Mike Tyson. Remarkably, he has even entertained the King of England during a state visit!

Cross says: “I’ve been eager to get back on the road since the pandemic, and I’ve also been eager to perform a parlour style magic show for a long while. Most of my favourite tricks are too big to fit in my pockets at weddings and corporate events – and they’re too small to perform on the big theatre stages, where I usually perform! So, I decided to put this brand-new show together for a maximum of 25 people! I trialled the show for a few nights earlier this year and it was a big hit. We had two sold-out nights at £100 per ticket. The tickets on my tour are £25 each, and we REALLY can only have a maximum of 25 people attend, due to the close-up nature of the show. It’s a real decadent 1920s parlour magic act, with plenty of banter and comedy thrown in there for good measure! Over 18’s only – leave the kids at home and come have some fun! I’m VERY excited about my new close-up magic theatre concept – and I can’t wait to get this brand-new magic show on the road!”

Co-owner of Hibou Blanc, based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Steven Pattinson, said: “I love magic myself and it’s been great to have Chris performing a proper magic show in our venue. He’s shared the stage with my Dad, Bobby Pattinson, a number of times, and we’ve been friends for years. His tricks are excellent and he’s very funny – the perfect combination! I’m looking forward to hosting Chris and his very special and magically brilliant show, at my venue again in November!”
